Most guests are traveling to Rio on Saturday or Sunday, November 9th or 10th. We will be traveling on SATURDAY and arriving on Sunday November 10th, and we will be staying at the Hilton Copacabana Hotel getting ready for an exciting tour day on Monday! You will only need the hotel for one night. Look for hotels in COPACABANA so we can all stay together. Ipanema Beach and Leblon Beach are beautiful too but a little further out than where we will be. Note that all direct flights to Rio de Janeiro are overnight flights, about 9.5 hours. Once we know everyone's flight information we will be able to arrange transportation from the airport to the hotel. The flights I have researched all to to GIG Galeão. Google flights and Justfly.com were the best tools we found when booking our flight. We are flying American Airlines both ways. On justly they notify you of a price change.
8:00 am - 3:00 pm
This event is being covered by the bride and groom ;)
Rio has one of the 7 Wonders of the World with the "Christ the Redeemer" so we cannot go all the way to Brazil and not see it right? So we will be doing a guided tour that will start at the Christ the Redeemer, sitting on the top of the Corcovado Mountain. You will get to enjoy a breathtaking view. Then we will head to the the iconic "Escadaria Selarón". People from all over the world brought tiles from their countries and asked Selaron to add to the staircase. Nowadays there are more than 2000 tiles from around 60 countries! We will end our tour at the "Pão de Açúcar" which is the Sugar Loaf. Brazil is known for its beautiful landscape. Sugarloaf Mountain is no exception. We will be having lunch all together here too. The bus will be picking us up from our hotel, Hilton Copacabana, so meet in the lobby at 7:50am. After the tour is over, the bus will take us to Buzios, where the wedding festivities will be. You'll be able to check into to your hotel and relax that night.
9:30 am - 5:00 pm
It's a WHITE PARTY so come in your boat/beach attire.
We will be meeting at Praia do Osso where the boat will be taking off from. Lunch in a BBQ style will be served on the boat, and we will have a bartender aboard too!! A DJ will keep us dancing when we are not swimming in the clear waters!
3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
We are doing things the unconventional way - you wouldn't expect anything different right? LOL Cocktail hour will be first, where we will be able to mingle with everyone while we enjoy some delicious drinks and tasty food. We will be hanging out with everyone during this hour too (again, nothing traditional here after 15 years of marriage)! There will be tables open and lounge areas all throughout the venue. The view will be spectacular so take it all in!! We are in Brazil, where COLORS are everywhere. So please come in your colorful attire. Long or short dresses, your preference. Don't be afraid of bold prints too. And guys, no ties needed ;) November is almost summer time in Brazil.
4:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Short and sweet, where we will be professing our love and commitment to each other again after 15 years!
4:30 pm - 11:45 pm
Brazilian parties are known to last all night so come with your dancing shoes or the flip flops you were gifted from your hotel welcome bag. Being that the party is going all night we will not be having an "after party" so don't leave early, party all night with us! A special surprise performance will have us partying like it's Carnaval!
12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
We don't want the festivities to end, so we want to gather one last time to extend our gratitude to everyone who took the time to travel and celebrate with us. Enjoy a relaxed ambiance, continuing with the delicious local cuisine, as we reminisce on the unforgettable memories we created together these last few days. We are staying in Buzios for our "honeymoon" for an extra 3 days. Some people are returning to America this weekend, so transfer services will be available from the hotels. All flights are overnight so you can have lunch with us then head to the airport after. Friday November 15 is a holiday in Brazil just as an FYI.
