We first met at Joseph Kerr Middle School during the seventh grade band class. We had mutual friends and eventually met as "friends of friends". Although we continued to share the same school, we did not share classes and thus did not initially spend much time with one another. As luck would have it, we bumped into each other at California State University-Sacramento during our first semester. One day, we both had a craving for Subway and stopped by the sub shop next to the Hornet Bookstore. We both briefly sat at different green tables outside the store before we had our "Hey, I know that guy!" moment. Unbeknownst to one another, we each began trying to catch each other for lunch: Julia started sitting at the same green table to hopefully catch Stan heading towards his car while Stan began parking at the garage every day for classes to catch Julia on his way home. The rest is history.
Stan began thinking about designing a ring during his final year at West Point. He was recommended to a fellow cadet's family jeweling business and began to have a custom ring designed, which he received early April 2019. Anticipating the summer vacation, Julia, Stan, and his close friends had decided to celebrate their graduation via a Cruise to the Bahamas. During a cruise to the Bahamas, Stan had coordinated with his parents and his friends to propose to Julia during the cruise, which captured the love between Jack and Anne-with none of Leonardo's bad acting. Julia had to be asked a couple times before she was certain that 1) this was the real deal and 2) she did not need to throw Stan over the side. After about seven blissful days, the cruise ended, but the engagement had really begun! Now, our wedding will not come with a coconut-and-umbrella cocktail, but we know it will capture the binding of two kindred souls in a union of love and respect for years to come. We look forward to seeing you in Sacramento!
Until then, we look forward to seeing you!
