Guests are kindly asked to arrive at their accommodations no later than 3:00 PM on Wednesday to allow ample time to prepare for the Baraat (the groom’s grand entrance), which begins promptly at 4:30 PM. Timely arrival is essential to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted start to the evening’s celebrations.
Where to Park Guests staying at the Inns of Aurora • Use the small private lot behind your lodging (Aurora Inn, Wallcourt Hall, Zabriskie House, etc.). All other guests • Park along Main Street or in the marked public lot next to the Post Office. Cocktail Hour + Baraat (groom’s procession) — Wednesday, June 4, 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM* To keep the parade moving smoothly, please do not park in front of Rowland House during this window. Clearing this stretch of Main Street lets our festive procession pass by without interruption. Thank you for helping us celebrate in style!
Please plan to be seated by 4:30 PM on Thursday, June 5. Prelude music begins shortly thereafter, and the ceremony starts promptly at 5:00 PM. Arriving a few minutes early lets everyone settle in and ensures a smooth, uninterrupted procession.
Festivities will wrap up late on Thursday, June 5th. Guests are welcome to head out anytime Friday morning, June 6th — or stay and enjoy a leisurely weekend exploring the Finger Lakes.
Because our Indian groom’s parade—called a Baraat—is the Grand Entrance and blends seamlessly into Cocktail Hour. How it works 4:30 PM — Cocktails begin on the front porch/lawn of Rowland House. Grab a drink and mingle. ≈ 4:50 PM — Follow the music. Guests (except the bride’s immediate family) will be invited to the driveway to dance the Baraat. 5:00 PM — Baraat = Grand Entrance. We dance up the driveway; the bride’s family welcomes us. 5:10 PM — Back to cocktails. Everyone flows to the back lawn; drinks and hors d’oeuvres continue until 6:30 PM. Bars stay open the entire time, and our planner plus both families will guide you—just follow the music!
Gentlemen: Colorful kurta‑pajama, bandhgala, or smart cocktail attire. The groom’s party will be in coordinating oat‑beige silk kurtas, so feel free to complement them with bright or jewel‑tone hues, embroidery, or subtle prints. Ladies: Traditional sari or lehenga, or an elegant cocktail dress with Indian‑inspired embellishments. Rich colors, metallic accents, and statement jewelry are encouraged. Footwear: Flats, wedges, or comfortable block heels—choose shoes you can dance and parade in. Bright colors and festive details are welcome. Embrace the spirit of the evening and have fun!
