Shain and I met at Sweet Creations Frozen Yogurt Shop in Fuquay Varina, NC. You're probably thinking "that's weird". Yeah, it kinda is. My now sister-in-law, Alissa was the manager at the shop and I needed a job... so I decided to take that opportunity. I started my first day on the job training with Shain. At first it was really awkward. Shain had a girlfriend at the time and I was going through a break-up. That day we quickly got to know each other between customers. When I got home from work that day my mom asked me "so, how was working with that very cute boy?". I laughed and ignored her like I didn't know what she was talking about. At the time, I was not interested in any type of relationship. The next few months we became really good friends and I always asked myself "why is this boy so nice to me? I've never met someone like him before". I avoided any type of feelings that I thought I may have for him. Alissa and my mom nudged at me a lot saying "come on he's only 18 that's not too old for you". Alissa had already known him for a few years and was constantly telling me how good of a guy he is. A few months later he told me things were not working out with his girlfriend. I gave him advice and made sure he knew I was there for him if he needed anything. Shortly after, we had a contest at work. Turns out we both won the contest and got gift cards! Shain insisted the winner took the other one out for a date. We went out on our first date in September of 2015. After our first date we continued to explore our relationship and officially started dating on 10/4/2015. Working with Shain really helped build a strong relationship. The support from our friends and family made being together so easy. Five years ago we never would have thought we would be getting married. Everything truly does happen for a reason.
