Shuttles and taxis for pickup can be arranged through the hotel, but there are also taxis available when you walk outside the airport. *Please note that you will need to pay in cash if you choose to take a taxi* Uber is also available once you leave the airport, but it may take up to 15mins for them to arrive. The drive to El Mangroove is about 25 minutes. If you plan on renting a car we have additional information on our travel tab for you to reference.
Both our ceremony and reception will be taking place at El Mangroove Hotel - An Autograph Collection.
Both the ceremony and reception will be held outside on grass.
We all love an excuse to look our best so we are requesting our guests dress in cocktail attire. Since we are in a tropical environment feel free to to have a little fun with your outfits. Please be aware that both the ceremony and reception will be held on grass so we recommend women wear shoes with thick heels or flats. The welcome drinks will be a causal event at the hotel bar. Be aware that the floor is sand so resort ware is welcome!
Our ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30pm so please arrive between 4:15 and 4:25.
We have tried our best to accommodate our guests, but unfortunately space in limited. If a plus one has been allotted to you your invitation will reflect that.
We love your little ones, but we have decided to make this an adults only event. Knowing that people may be making a vacation out of this trip, the hotel does offer babysitting services which can be arranged through the concierge.
You can either RSVP with the card included with your invite or online in our RSVP section.
Please RSVP by August 26th.
Mid-November is the very end of the rainy season in this area of Costa Rica so expect it to be hot and humid with the possibility of occasional showers. The average temperature will be 75-85 with humidity.
No! Costa Rica uses the same outlets as we do in the US
Costa Rica uses the Costa Rican Colone. You will get the best exchange rate at your bank if you would like to have some cash when you arrive. There are also two currency exchanges right outside of customs at the Libera airport if you would rather wait until you arrive. The hotel (and some occasional other locations) will accept USD and most place will accept payment by credit card. *Everything at El Mangroove can be paid in USD/room charges. If you plan on leaving the resort property or travelling we recommend exchanging money*
Tipping is something that is not typical in Costa Rica however many checks will have a service charge and tax included when you pay. An additional tip is always welcome on top of this but not required.
There are other hotels in the area however they will require a car or taxi in order to get to El Mangroove. Taxis are limited in this area and will take some time for one to arrive. There is one hotel that is right next to the property and is the only one that does not require a car. Please note we do not have a room block at any other hotels besides El Mangroove. There are some rentals (Airbnbs etc) in the area but are generally limited and will also require a car or taxi to get around.
If you have questions that you need answered you can email seanandjuliawedding1@gmail.com and we will get back to you.
- Most people we have encountered at the hotel and in the towns speak English pretty well. - There will be people on the beach trying to sell you things but if you say no thanks they will leave you alone. - In November Costa Rica will be in Central Standard Time. - The water in Costa Rica is completely safe to drink. - Out favorite local food is the ceviche. We highly recommend!
