Noelle has been Julia's partner in crime for many years. They went to grade school and high school together, and have continued to travel around the country to spend time together no matter where the other is living. Their first international trip was to the Peruvian Amazon where they learned about rainforest conservation, swam in the river, and fished for piranhas. There is no more steadfast friend than one who is willing to brave piranha infested waters with you! Noelle lives in St. Paul and works at 3M, a true Minnesotan, through and through. She is dog mom to the beautiful Oscar.
Lauren Hewett

Lauren is one of Julia's oldest friends. They grew up a block apart and met at the bus stop in first grade. They were both kids who sucked their thumbs for way too long, and often had to be separated in class because they were talking too much. Lauren now lives in Oakland and works as a cardiothoracic surgery PA. Maybe one day Lauren, Nico & Julia will open a surgical practice together! She is dog mom to the cuddly chocolate lab, Charlie, and human mom to her brand new baby, Miles!
Caroline Thompson

Caroline and Julia grew up blocks apart, yet didn't meet until high school. Freshman year Chemistry class showed them that they had amazing chemistry as friends, sparking many years of shenanigans. From days spent in IB ceramics class to narrowly avoiding arrest on the banks of the Mississippi River, they have been through a lot. Caroline was Julia's first close friend to move to Chicago, and showed her all of the different neighborhoods and offerings of the city. She is a PR wizard; ask her about her most interesting clients! Caroline is cat mom to Flora Mae and Evie, and dog mom to Nella (not pictured).
Alex Waler

Alex is one of Nico's younger sisters. Nico and Alex overlapped senior and freshman years for both high school and college. They would burn new CDs for the drive to high school that met both their tastes, with Rise Against and Lil Wayne next to Miranda Cosgrove and Taylor Swift. As the middle child, she blazed her own path, breaking Nico's records in HS track and field and earning numerous honors through undergrad and medical school. She is currently completing surgery residency in North Carolina.
Tori Waler
Bridesmaid
Tori is Nico's youngest sister. She makes up for her small size with big personality. She and Nico regularly exchange beer, music, and recipe recommendations. She is currently living and working in Jacksonville, FL. A passionate animal lover, she knows the history of every dog breed and can tell you which is the best dog and why it's her own pup, Rooka.

Justin Moo Young
Best Man
Nico didn't meet Justin until medical school but it was like finding a lost brother. From long hours in the anatomy lab and late nights in South Beach, to early mornings off the coast of Miami or in the Keys, the two quickly became best friends. He is completing orthopedic surgery residency at Vanderbilt where he has adopted a teddy bear Samoyed and a Southern accent (he'll deny it).
John Woodward

John is Nico's oldest friend. The two met in 3rd grade and went to the same middle and high schools. Their high school antics would earn them lunch duties and extra laps at practice. The two kept in touch and saw each other regularly while attending different undergraduate universities. John is now living and working in South Florida.
Tim Edmonds
Groomsman
Nico met Tim when the two were working and living in New York CIty. Together they tended the largest patio garden in the Bronx when not working, complete with the unofficial world record for tallest tomato plant. Tim will be headed to the west coast to finish his training in Anesthesia and summit more 14ers.
Aaron Rothe
Groomsman
Aaron is Julia's oldest sibling and her first role model. He inspired her to study Spanish, which led Julia to live abroad in Argentina. Thankfully, he focuses less energy on pinning Julia down so Karl can tickle her these days, and more energy being an amazing dad to our beautiful flower girl, Hazel.
Karl Rothe
Groomsman
Karl is Julia's almost Irish twin brother, only 17mo older than her. They were very close growing up, but thankfully had different last names, meaning Julia could feign not truly being related at any opportune time. When they were little, Karl and Julia spent summers tearing up the neighborhood on bikes, in tennis lessons, swimming at the St Paul tennis club, and playing with the neighborhood kids.
