Question

Do I need to arrive in Bucine on September 6th and leave on September 11th?

Answer

No of course not. We would love to have everyone there for the whole duration of course but understand that this is YOUR vacation also. If you decide to arrive in Bucine on September 7th or later and will be missing the welcome dinner, please let us know ahead of time. We need to give the venue a headcount for each meal and costs are per person. So, if you know you'll be arriving later, please let us know :)

Question

Is there a dress code for the wedding?

Answer

Formal Cocktail Attire

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, of course. If you have any food allergies, please let us know ahead of time.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

If you are staying at the venue down the road, there will be a shuttle bus to pick you up and drop you off. If you are staying at a nearby hotel and will not be renting a car, we can have someone pick you up beforehand.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

There will be a welcome party the day of arrival (September 6th) for all our guests. There will be a rehearsal dinner the evening before the wedding (September 8th) for the bridal party and parents! If you know you will not be attending the welcome dinner, please let us know ahead of time.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will tentatively start between 4 and 5pm depending on the heat that day.

Question

What should we do in our free time?

Answer

Marco and I will be at the venue for the full 5 days and of course hope to spend as much time with each of you as possible! We plan to spend time by the pool, playing games and hanging out with everyone. But of course, there are several things to do in the area. -Day trip to Florence from Bucine (about 50 min drive each way depending on traffic) -Day trip to Siena from Bucine (about 40 min drive each way depending on traffic) -Visit a local winery (we are gathering a list of nearby ones!) -Pasta making class (this is something our venue can put together if enough people are interested!

Question

How do I get from the airport to the venue

Answer

Option 1 Driving: Fiumicino Airport (FCO) - rental cars can be picked up here: Rental cars can definitely be an option. Our suggestion would be to pick up from the airport rather than the Rome Train station for the sole reason of then you get to skip the traffic getting out of Rome. The airport has plenty of rental car companies such as Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz, Sixt, Noleggio, etc. This would obviously need to be booked prior to arrival. Option 2 Train: Train Fiumicino Airport to Roma Termini - rental cars can be picked up here: The first step of the train endeavor would be to first train from the airport to the Rome Central Station. These are shuttles and occur every 15 minutes. Very simple and straightforward. OPTION WHEN FLYING IN TO FLORENCE Option 1 Driving: Florence Airport (FLR) - rental cars can be picked up here Same as in Rome, if you plan on renting a car from Florence, I recommend getting the car at the airport rather than the city center. The drive from here is a lot quicker than from Rome. Option 2 Train: Train from Florence Airport to Florence Train Station Again, as done in Rome you will need to take a streetcar train from the airport to the Florence central station. Pretty quick and seamless process getting to the main station. Once there you will be able to get your train again to Bucine. Trainline : Search, Compare & Buy Cheap Train Tickets (thetrainline.com)

Question

How can I find the best or cheapest flight options?

Answer

There are many tricks to booking flights options that don't break the bank. Normally the best time to start searching for flight options is around the 5-to-6-month window from your travel dates. Any earlier and flights will actually appear to be more expensive. As mentioned in the Travel section we recommend using the Google flights search tool to look at all airlines while in a "incognito or private" window so that your cookies are not tracked by airlines. Another tip would be using rewards points with a travel credit card. Credit Cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred or the Capital One Venture Card are great options that have deals with airlines when booking with points. Both cards have sign on bonuses that grant you anywhere from 65k to 75k points in the first couple months when you reach a spending threshold (normally 4k in purchases in the first 3 months of obtaining the card). To put it in perspective round trip flights to Rome can be anywhere from 60k to 90k points round trip. Therefore, you could almost pay for the entire flight in points just from your everyday purchases. For more details or questions regarding these cards or other reward flight info feel free to reach out to us as we have had lots of experience utilizing this booking option.

Question

Where in Italy should we travel before / after the wedding if we're looking to stay longer?

Answer

Italy is by far mine and Marco's favorite country! If you have the chance to do any traveling before or after our wedding, we highly recommend it! Here is a list of cities in Italy that we've been to that we recommend! -Florence -Rome -Milan -Lake Como -Venice -Cinque Terre -Amalfi Coast

Question

I don't have a passport. When should I get one?

Answer

If you do not have a passport, please do not wait until the last minute to get one! I know this may seem obvious, but September will be here before we know it. We don't want you realizing it's June or July and you haven't gotten your passport yet. I know you can get them expediated pretty quickly- maybe a month or less? But that will cost more and it's never a guarantee. Mine and Marco's passport is from 2015, so we haven't gone through the process in a long time. My best advice is to do it now and get it out of the way, so you aren't stressed later on.
