Things To Do

If you have one ultimate "Atlanta day" we would recommend staying in Midtown and seeing Piedmont Park, the Beltline and Ponce City Market. We've lived in the Midtown neighborhood for the majority of our time in Atlanta, and we visit these places on the reg. If you would like to see multiple tourism destinations in downtown (Aquarium, World of Coke, College Football Hall of Fame, Civil Rights Museum), we would suggest looking into this package for a discount: https://www.citypass.com/atlanta

Outdoor Activity in Midtown: Walk around Piedmont Park

400 Park Drive Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30306

Atlanta's "Central Park" For those who live in Midtown Atlanta, this is the center of anything happening. A must-see while visiting the ATL. The park also features a very nice Botanical Garden.

Outdoor Activity in Midtown: Walk the Beltline

500 10th St. NE, Atlanta, GA 30306

This is an urban walking trail with a ton of restaurants and bars connected to it. While our wedding venue lies on the Westside portion, most of the action is on the Eastside trail. Enter at SE corner of Piedmont Park, at Krog Steet, or at Ponce City Market (more below).

Outdoor Activity away from Midtown: Cochran Shoals Trail

Cochran Shoals Trail, Marietta, GA 30067

This is a beautiful walking trail network next to the Chattahoochee River. Great for puppy watching. Ken has done a lot of marathon training here. Bring a few dollars in cash for parking. If you're hungry after your walk, swing by the Braves stadium complex called The Battery. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from.

Outdoor Activity away from Midtown: Stone Mountain Park

1000 Robert E Lee Boulevard, Stone Mountain, GA 30083

Famous for its massive granite face and Civil War era stone carvings, this park offers a slightly-out-of-town option to go hiking, bbq, play golf, and see night-time laser shows.

Food & Drinks in Midtown: Ponce City Market

675 Ponce De Leon Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30308
, (404) 900-7900

Massive food court with a ton of options mentioned above. We recommend the ramen place, Indian or Chinese restaurants. Also includes shopping options and a roof-top with a beer garden and mini golf.

Food & Drinks in Midtown: Cypress Street Pint & Plate

817 West Peachtree Street Northwest, Atlanta, GA 30308
, (404) 815-9243

This is where we had our first date! They have an ample drink menu and tasty reasonably-priced food, both of the greasy and more healthy varieties. We would recommend sitting outside near the fire pit in the evening.

More Midtown Food & Drink Options

905 Juniper Street Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30309

You'll never run out of restaurant and bar options in Midtown, but these are a few more of our favorites! The Lawrence - Great for fancy cocktails & upscale dinner. Or just go sit at the bar and have a Lady Lawrence cocktail. SeƱor Patron - Our staple Tex-Mex place with FREE CHIPS & SALSAS! Bab's - Awesome local breakfast/brunch. Small rotating menu means you'd never have the same thing there twice. Krog Street Market - Another food court option further along the Beltline Einstein's on Juniper - Not to be confused with Einstein Bagels. This also serves breakfast (with free cornbreaad baskets!!) but also good lunch & dinner. E Ramen+ - Solid ramen place 10 min walk from hotels Anh's Kitchen - slightly more upper scale Vietnamese Cafe Intermezzo - AMAZING desserts and cocktails. Oreo cheesecake. Enough said. Except for Krog (on the Beltline) they are all within a few blocks from Midtown MARTA station.

Museum in Downtown: National Center for Civil and Human Rights

100 Ivan Allen Junior Boulevard Northwest, Atlanta, GA 30313
, (678) 999-8990

Hands down the best museum in Atlanta. This is downtown, so we would recommend NOT driving and trying to park here. Take Uber or Lyft.

Family Activities in Downtown: World of Coca-Cola & Georgia Aquarium

121 Baker Street Northwest, Atlanta, GA 30313

Two great options for kids, yet fun for everyone! The World of Coca Cola is an interactive museum with tastings from all over the globe. Georgia Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the Western Hemisphere. Both are next to each other, as well as the Civil Rights museum. Best to take MARTA or Uber/Lyft.

Family Activity in Downtown: Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame

250 Marietta Street NorthWest, Atlanta, GA 30313
, (404) 880-4800

This is downtown near the World of Coke and Aquarium.
