10/5 - HURRICANE HELENE UPDATE

Answer

As you all have surely seen by now, Western NC has been devastated by Hurricane Helene. Some updates for you as of 10/5 1. The Farm is OK! They have running water and their buildings did not sustain any severe damage. 2. The venue's employees & vendors are also OK! 3. Downtown Asheville is NOT ok! It is unlikely that hotels are going to be able to accommodate guests on our wedding weekend. At this point we are still optimistic about having our wedding on November 16th at the Farm. We will likely have to ask everyone to get hotel rooms in a different town that is able to handle the influx of 200 people. The most likely candidates are Greenville and Spartanburg. At this time, please do not book hotel rooms. We will let everyone know when we have more information both from the venue and hotels on how to proceed. But at this time, the party is still on!

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

Given the hurricane the situation has changed - We will update you more on this as our plans evolve. At this time, cars will likely be helpful for getting people to/from the wedding venue if we do have to move the hotel rooms to Greenville or Spartanburg.

Can we bring our kids?

Answer

We love your kids! We really do. Unfortunately, the answer is no. We are blessed with wonderfully large families, so we would not be able to accommodate everyone we want to invite if we included everyone's children. Only infants who do not require their own seat or meal can be accommodated. We truly appreciate your understanding!

Do I have a plus one?

Answer

If you want a plus one and don't see one on your RSVP, please reach out to either Eric or Julia and we will let you know if we still have room in our guest count. We appreciate your understanding if we've already hit the maximum capacity - we’re cutting it close!

Are the ceremony and reception in the same location?

Answer

Yes! Once you arrive at The Farm - A Gathering Place, you're in the right place for the whole event.
