Hello to all of our wonderful friends and family! We are only 3 weeks away from the big day :D We wanted to put a reminder up here for a few important details and changes. 1. The welcome party has been cancelled. With the changes after the hurricane, managing the logistics of this was going to be too much for us. We encourage friends and family to enjoy the parts of Asheville that have opened at the time of our wedding! Thank you all for understanding. 2. The ceremony is planned to be outside and will be on grass (stiletto heels are not recommended). November in Asheville can be a bit chilly, so we would recommend having a jacket for the outside portion of the event. Dinner and entertainment will be indoors. Please choose your shoes and attire so you will be comfortable! Our recommendation is semi/formal to formal. 3. Shuttles will pick up guests from the Renaissance, Doubletree, and Embassy Suites. We have great news to share with our guests! The following hotels in Asheville have confirmed that they will be open for our wedding weekend and guests will be able to book there if other accommodations have fallen through: 1. Renaissance (Asheville) 2. Doubletree (Asheville) 3. Embassy Suites (Asheville) Prices for these hotels have gone up in the wake of the storm. We hope our guests will view this as an opportunity to contribute directly to the recovery of this resilient community. If cost is prohibitive to your ability to come to our wedding, please reach out to us! We have a few open rooms at a property next to the farm that could be an option for you. As you all have surely seen by now, Western NC has been devastated by Hurricane Helene. Some updates for you as of 10/5: 1. The Farm is OK! They have running water and their buildings did not sustain any severe damage. 2. The venue's employees & vendors are also OK! 3. Downtown Asheville is NOT ok! It is unlikely that hotels are going to be able to accommodate guests on our wedding weekend. At this point we are still optimistic about having our wedding on November 16th at the Farm. We will likely have to ask everyone to get hotel rooms in a different town that is able to handle the influx of 200 people. The most likely candidates are Greenville and Spartanburg. At this time, please do not book hotel rooms. We will let everyone know when we have more information both from the venue and hotels on how to proceed. But at this time, the party is still on!
