Things To Do

Chicago has so many wonderful things to do, places to see, and restaurants to try. Below are a list of our favorites (we really love winter activities if you couldn't tell!)
Millennium Park Ice Rink

Millennium Park Ice Rink

11 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60602

You can ice skate under the skyline near the bean - one of the most iconic locations in Chicago!

Maggie Daley Park Ice Skating Ribbon

Maggie Daley Park Ice Skating Ribbon

337 East Randolph Street, Chicago, IL 60601

Maggie Daley Park is a great alternative to the Millenium Park Ice Skating Rink - tends to be less crowded as it is a larger rink and has equally as stunning views!

Christkindlmarket Chicago

Christkindlmarket Chicago

50 West Washington Street, Chicago, IL 60602

A traditional Christkindlmarket is located in the heart of downtown. While it tends to get very busy on the weekends, if you happen to be in town on Friday it is worth a stop!

Lincoln Park Zoo, Zoo Lights

Lincoln Park Zoo, Zoo Lights

Chicago, IL 60614

Lincoln Park Zoo hosts Zoo Lights annually - with incredible light displays and even more beautiful views of the city.

Museums

Museums

If you're looking for an indoor activity you can consider a visit to the Art Institute of Chicago, visit Sue the T Rex at the Field Museum or explore the Shedd Aquarium.

Skydeck Chicago

Skydeck Chicago

233 South Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL 60606

You can visit one of the highest observation decks in the US, located in the Willis Tower and overlooking the entire city.

Navy Pier

Navy Pier

600 East Grand Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611

While not as popular of a spot in the winter time, Navy Pier does also host an annual winter festival with lights and rides. We have never been but may be worth a stop if Navy Pier is on your bucket list!

Dining

Dining

The list of amazing Chicago restaurants is truly never ending! A list of few of our favorites are below. Lou Malnati's: Our favorite for classic Chicago deep dish pizza! Portillo's: Chicago style comfort food and is known for it's hot dogs, italian beef, chocolate cake milkshakes. Definitely worth a visit if you haven't been! Au Cheval: One of the best burgers we've ever had! Typically has a wait but is a Chicago classic. Il Porcellino: Great mid-priced Italian food. Girl & the Goat: One of the most popular Chicago restaurants, wide variety of shareable dishes. Tends to be a bit more loud lively! Trivoli Tavern: Upscale, comfort food. It has a dim, cozy, romantic feel and is great stop for the winter months! Gilt Bar: Similar in atmosphere to to Trivoli Tavern, with a speakeasy in the basement! Great for dinner or cocktails.
