Flight
Flying into Paris Flights to Paris from most cities are typically direct, a plus for cost and convienience. From Charles de Gaulle Airport, reaching the Avignon/Lamotte-du-Rhône area takes about 2.5 to 3.5 hours by train. There are several train itinerary options to consider: 1) Train to Avignon and car rental: Once in Avignon, you can rent a car for the weekend. The venue is 30–40 minutes from Avignon, and major car rental providers like Sixt are conveniently located at the Avignon TGV station. 2)Train to Avignon and cab: Take a cab from Avignon directly to your hotel or the venue. 3)Train to nearby stations: Travel to Bollène-la-Croisière (less than 10 minutes from the venue) or Pont-Saint-Esprit (about 12 minutes from the venue). While renting a car can make it easier to explore the area during downtime, it’s not essential for the wedding itinerary. We’ll arrange transportation and cabs for Saturday’s events. Additionally, with many guests traveling from similar locations, you may find opportunities to share the cost of a car rental and coordinate plans. Flying into Nice Flying into Nice is another great logistical option, though it often involves a connecting flight, unless you're traveling from NYC or London. From Nice Airport, the venue is a scenic 2-hour and 45-minute drive. The route passes through Cannes and Aix-en-Provence, with opportunities for detours along the Côte d’Azur. Flying into Marseille Marseille is technically the closest airport to the venue, making it the easiest option if you plan to drive thereafter from the airport to the Domaine. The venue is just 1 hour and 10 minutes away by car. However, flights to Marseille from the U.S. are more limited compared to Paris or Nice, which may influence your decision. An advantage of Marseille is the ease of catching an early flight out on Sunday, should that be required. Car rental options are plentiful, and cab/van transportation can also be arranged.
Travel Note
There are many lovely towns to explore nearby. For a classic Provençal vibe that is logistically friendly, we recommend checking out Laplud, Mondragon, Bollène, or Pont-Saint-Esprit—all towns next door with less than a 10-minute drive from the venue and full of charm. Bollène, of those options, is a bit larger, and where the local train station is situated. When it comes to places to stay, "gîtes" are a great option, as they offer a cozy and authentic experience in the countryside. These local cottages, range from housing 4 to 14 people, are often run as Airbnbs or as small hotels. Some are even within walking distance of the venue. The venue has given us a list and we'd be happy to coordinate or recommend some as needed. For transportation on the wedding day, we’re planning to have a shuttle service with pick-ups from key spots in Bollène and Pont-Saint-Esprit, and potentially other nearby towns. After the celebration, we’ll aim to provide door-to-door shuttles back to your accommodations.
