Being non-binary is just like being a man or a woman. It is a person's internal sense of identity, irrespective of what body parts they have. Gender identity (who you are) is different from romantic attraction (who you like) or gender presentation (how you dress/act). Read more about it at https://smplu.link/gender Although Jules often has a feminine presentation (i.e. fashion style), they are NOT a woman. They are referred to as "they" or "them," NOT "she" or "her." Please refrain from using the word "bride" on this special day. (If in doubt, just call them Jules!) Everyone makes mistakes occasionally or says the wrong thing; the best thing to do is quickly apologize and move on. It's not a big deal. However, we do expect all guests to make a genuine effort to treat others respectfully.

Elijah studies historical fencing, or "HEMA," so Jules proposed to him with a custom-designed rapier that is simultaneously a work of art and a piece of functional fencing equipment. He proudly wears it in lieu of a traditional engagement ring (when situationally appropriate, of course).
