Let’s set the scene. Austin, fresh after a motorcycle accident and with a broken leg, was crutching (very slowly) back to his dorm from a Freshman mixer. Meghan, who decided to wander campus instead of going to the mixer, was following a kid on crutches (very slowly) back to her dorm. They both got in the elevator and headed to the 5th floor. Meghan realized she should probably make awkward small talk with him because it's the first week of college and neither of them have made friends yet. And the most obvious topic of awkward small talk was the broken leg that Austin had been answering questions about all night. “So I bet you’re tired of talking about that broken leg huh?” After that conversation Austin and Meghan began to see each other around the dorms a lot and became close friends. Hanging out after class every evening and late night Taco Bell runs were (and still are) frequent occurrences. Two years later they started dating. Two years after that, it was raining, Austin popped the question, and Meghan said yes!
