Despite both growing up in Santa Cruz and attending the same high school, we didn’t begin our journey together until we met in San Francisco. In 2016, Madeline was working at a pet-clothing company in SOMA and Andrew was working at a fast-casual restaurant around the block. One day on her lunch break, Madeline ran into Andrew as he was pushing a food cart on Mission St. After a short exchange to catch up one day soon, they started to text and decided to meet up at Tempest (a local dive bar institution) after work. This date was filled with laughs, and plans to have a second date soon.

Madeline was celebrating her Golden 30th Birthday in Sedona, AZ with Andrew and her parents, Julie and Larry. We had an amazing week exploring Red Rock Country together. After her Birthday Dinner, the four of them went down to the hotel courtyard to do some star gazing. We found lounge seats near a fire pit and Andrew announced he had a very special birthday gift for Madeline. He had proposed to Madeline with a beautiful sapphire and diamond ring. The rest of the night was blur… mainly from happy tears and excitement!
