We first crossed paths in the rugged beauty of Colorado in June 2022, during a friend’s wedding—picture towering mountains, pine trees, and maybe even a bear or two sneaking into the reception. She flew in from Seattle, the city known for coffee and rain, while I arrived from Atlanta, the land of peaches and humidity. We were both there as guest singers, which essentially meant we were hired to steal the spotlight with our voices. The night before the wedding, we were supposed to rehearse. But in reality, it felt less like a rehearsal and more like a musical showdown—think dueling pianos, but with fewer pianos and a lot more awkward eye contact. Amidst the "Oops, was I off-key?" moments and the challenge of not tripping over mic cords, we somehow found our rhythm—both musically and otherwise. By the end of it, we realized we had more in sync than just our harmonies. Who would’ve thought a rehearsal could lead to a lifelong duet?
