Located within walking distance of FSU Stadium, unique and funky vibes all around. Nice place to walk around with several interesting street art displayed on many structures, lots of unique, independent shops if you are looking for vintage and one of kind gifts. Good spots to have a meal, a few drinks and they occasionally have free music shows as well. The first time we came to this district we came across a pinball arcade and had such a blast we didn't realize three hours had gone by! For those that remember Blockbuster, you'll definitely enjoy the little video rental store (Cap City Video Lounge) where they host movie nights sometimes.
This is a museum, zoo, and mini farm all in one, fused into a beautiful forest. It’s an animal sanctuary with gorgeous hiking trails. There are many endangered species and plaques all about the history of the animal and where the species originally descended from. They also have a ziplining course, great for the entire family to enjoy and explore. Everything is outside, except for the gift shop.
Wakulla Springs has one of the world's largest and deepest freshwater springs. You can swim and dive in the underwater cave, explore the trails in the area or go on a boat tour and check out some wildlife. We've taken the boat tour twice and saw manatees, gators and other wildlife. Fun Fact: Creature from the Black Lagoon scenes were filmed here in 1954, as well as Tarzan's Secret Treasure in 1941 for those that like watching classic black-and-white films.
