Our Love Story

It all started in the summer of 2021. Juan and I met while working a summer job, and we instantly hit it off with the kind of easy, goofy chemistry neither of us expected to find. We had instantly clicked. The catch? Juan was only in town for the summer, staying with his mom in Texas. He was actually living in Florida… but here’s the wild part: we later found out we had lived just three minutes away from each other for seven years and had never met. Until that summer. In 2022, Juan made a big decision — he moved to Texas permanently with his mom. I reached out to hang out (totally thinking it was just a friendly hangout), but Juan? He was convinced it was a date. And looking back… maybe it kind of was. We went to the movies, and somewhere between the previews and the credits, Juan made his move — the classic yawn-stretch-arm-over-the-shoulder combo — and then held my hand for the rest of the night. A little weird? Maybe. Cute? Absolutely. That summer, we started going on real dates, and everything just clicked. On August 7th, during a rooftop dinner in downtown Dallas, Juan asked me to be his girlfriend. Saying “yes” was easy — I already knew this was something special. From there, our story unfolded like something out of a movie. I got to know Juan’s family and joined in on their celebrations, gatherings, and traditions. He did the same with mine — and over time, my family fell in love with him just like I did. They adore him not only for the way he loves me, but for who he is: dependable, funny, thoughtful, and juan of a kind. (lol). Our relationship blossomed through all the little things — spontaneous adventures, singing our hearts out at karaoke, bonding over conspiracy theories and dry humor, dancing in the kitchen, and hunting down the best new restaurants like it was our shared mission. Juan’s been there for me countless times — from car troubles to emotional support — and he’s the one I can count on no matter how big or small the moment. He’s also my favorite storyteller, and I could listen to him talk for hours. And just as I’ve leaned on him, I’ve been proud to be his rock too — encouraging his dreams, helping guide his decisions, and supporting the incredible man he continues to become. A big part of our journey has been our shared faith. Our journey together didn’t just deepen our love for each other, it also deepened our faith. We began attending church consistently, and it was through this shared commitment to growing in our faith that our relationship took on a new level of love, intention, gratitude, and spiritual connection. We supported each other through life’s challenges and laughed through the ups and downs, learning how to be there for one another in ways we hadn’t imagined before. On December 1st, 2024, Juan came to my home to ask both of my parents for their blessing. It was a moment full of love, tears, hugs, and words straight from the heart — a memory I’ll always cherish. Then, on December 21st, 2024, Juan couldn’t keep the secret any longer and, with all our loved ones gathered around, he asked me to marry him. The moment was filled with so much love and joy, and I said "yes" in a heartbeat. It was surreal, special, and a day I will never forget. Now, here we are, counting down the days until our wedding day — excited for the rest of our lives together, ready to make new memories, move in together, and experience all the firsts that come with forever. This is just the beginning — and we can’t wait for forever.
