Travel Note
Consider reserving a room EARLY even if your plans aren't set in stone YET as you can always adjust your dates. And here is why... Now this could be either a good thing or a bad thing depending on your affinity for festivals and crowds...The Tulip Time Festival is happening the week of our wedding and is approx. 10 miles from the venue; see Things To Do tab. The festival draws in some crazy high number of around 500K so it is safe to say that hotels will have less availability and higher rates. Thinking about exploring more than just our wedding venue? Check out the tab "Things To Do".
Flight
GRR | Grand Rapids = 40min/32mi via highway to venue AZO | Kalamazoo = 60min/57mi via highway to venue The easiest option is flying Allegiant Air DIRECT from Boston to Grand Rapids. Take the Concord Trailways bus from Portland right to the terminal at BOS. Those direct flights can be a little tricky with which days you can fly. So if you book a non-direct flight we highly recommend that you avoid connecting through Chicago. Make a grand entrance and fly your own plane. Is a group-charter a thing? Consider West Michigan Regional Airport (Tulip City Airport) which is 10mins/7mi from the venue. You might even be able to make a surprise helicopter landing in the field at the venue (but you didn't hear that from us).
Hotel
avid Hotel Zeeland is the closest hotel to the venue and a fairly new and modern. There are more in Holland, Saugatuk, Wyoming or near the Grand Rapids airport. Feel free to send us a link to one(s) that you are considering and we'll give you a thumbs up/down based on the neighborhood.
Hotel
This hotel is a little bit further away from the wedding venue but you'll be able to avoid the hustle, bustle, and traffic of the Tulip Time Festival. It appears to be somewhat older but is said to be clean and quiet. It's also close to a rental house that Jay & Tammy are staying in with some friends from Maine.
