Maggio and Ignazio Cipriani welcome you to Bellini, where they’ve thoughtfully added their own character to the culinary tradition started over ninety years ago by their great-grandfather Giuseppe Cipriani in 1931. The 4th generation brothers have traveled Italy in search of dishes, flavors, and ingredients to inspire what is now a modern interpretation of Italian cooking across the Bellini menus. Bellini restaurants offer timeless Italian fare ranging from the loved and recognized traditional Cipriani dishes to newer artisan plates. Menu highlights include the signature Carpaccio, pastas, fresh salads, grilled specialties, and handcrafted pizzas, all of which are made from pure ingredients.

Whether you call it Federal Hill or Providence’s “Little Italy,” there’s no doubt that the neighborhood is changing, but there’s still a lot to love that’s exactly the same. Let’s appreciate what we have while we still have it, and also embrace some of the newer multicultural businesses that are making their home along the city’s famous red, white, and green-striped stretch. If the Rat Pack chose a restaurant on the Hill for a hangout, it would be Andino’s. The casual Italian spot, which opened as a social club in 1988, features a lively bar and packed dining room with a hand-painted mural memorializing Federal Hill as we’ll always remember it. Photos of Frank Sinatra, the Sopranos, boxer Rocky Marciano, the Godfather cast, and the late owner of the restaurant, Andino Merola, line the walls of the bar while Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby croon for eternity.
Providence’s historic Federal Hill neighborhood spans iconic Atwells Avenue and the surrounding streets. Largely settled by Italian American immigrants in the early 1900s, Federal Hill effuses a sense of warmth and community that embraces visitors and locals alike. While the neighborhood has evolved, the influence of the Italian people and culture is ever present. When shopping or dining, take the time to talk to a shop owner or interact with a food purveyor, as they will likely share a story about the history of the store or neighborhood.
