A few locations all over the Austin area - gotta get the moon milk.
The place we take all out-of-town guests to try good Texas BBQ. Lots of seating under beautiful oak trees, and open pits where you can watch the brisket and sausage smoke. Amy loves the berry cobbler!
One of the first places we visited in Austin - Sam's love of cider + Amy's competitive nature makes this retro bar with unlimited arcade games the perfect date night.
One of the historic sites in central Austin, Lady Bird Lake has a beautiful walking trail named after First Lady Claudia "Lady Bird" Johnson. Keep an eye out for turtles!
Great place for olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting with a bistro lunch menu.
Super fun tasting room for one of Sam's favorite Texas-distilled vodkas.
The closest thing to In N Out we have - consistently delicious burgers and fries for a cheap drunk meal that SLAPS every time.
Multiple locations around the Austin area with a menu full of fun Tex-Mex tacos. We love the Crossroads taco, Baja Shrimp taco, Brushfire taco, and Trailer Park taco, as well as their guac and queso. Make sure to ask about their secret menu, and taco of the month!
Our go-to spot after a weekend walk with the dogs. Our favorite is the iced turbo!
Music starts around 8pm, open every night of the week! Plenty of other bars and restaurants around "Dirty 6th" as well.
A favorite of ours when we want fresh-made pasta but don't want to make it ourselves. Sam's favorite: spaghetti bolognese. Amy's favorite: bruschetta and fedelini pachino.
Another great BBQ place in central Austin, with cute merch. We love the brisket, pork ribs, green beans, and cream corn! Don't be put off by a long line - it moves fast.
One of our go-to weekend walk spots, in case you feel like walking off the good Texas food! Dogs are welcome on- and off-leash, and one loop is ~1 mile, partially shaded. There is also a small playground for kiddos.
