Question

How do I get to the ceremony?

Answer

Since the Naval Academy is a military installation, guests must go through security prior to entering the campus. The following options are available: WEDDING SHUTTLE BUS-- We will be providing transportation to and from the Westin Hotel, where our reception will be located (more details to come). This is the recommended option to arrive as a group to the chapel. All guests should BRING VALID GOVERNMENT ID. We will have a list of wedding guests for security ahead of time and the security personnel will check each ID before entering the chapel. WALKING--The general public is not allowed vehicle access on campus. However pedestrian access is allowed for this event with a REAL ID-compliant photo ID card. Upon arrival, all visitors may undergo an ID and bag check and screened through a magnetometer before entering the installation. Random personnel and vehicle searches will be conducted at all gates. If you are choosing not to enter with the shuttle bus we provide, be aware that it could take time to go through security, especially if there are lines. HANDICAP ACCESSIBILITY-- The general public is not allowed vehicle access on campus. However visitors with valid government-issued disability parking/placard license plates or placards may be granted vehicle access at Gate 1 and Gate 8 during visiting hours and the event. The individual with disabilities shall be in the vehicle and provide REAL-ID Act compliant identification for identity proofing. The photo ID will be compared to the parking certification card issued by the DMV and the disability parking placard issued. The vehicle operator shall submit to a vehicle inspection at the Entry Control Point. You may park at any handicap or non-reserved space. Please note that the shuttle bus option that we are providing will drop off and pick up right in front of the chapel if you are able.
