One day in April 2017, fresh CNN intern Joy was lost when an editor she was supposed to shadow was nowhere to be found. Seasoned editor Tee came to rescue and pulled her into his edit bay. They trained for a few hours and -NEWS FLASH- they both found each other to be very cute. 2 months later they met again officially as teammates, but little did they know that they would be more than just coworkers very soon.
Tee and Joy quickly learned how much they had in common and how well they got along. Soon, they decided to meet outside of work as "friends" and get Korean food together. Tee was surprised by two things: how Joy did not hold back in eating all of her food and even taking some of his food, and how loudly she screamed when a tiny bug landed on her. A few weeks later during another day of "hanging out" and hiking, Tee and Joy got lost in the woods. They walked for hours, crossed streams and fought off more bugs in the hot Tennessee summer sun to find their way back. Along the way, you could say they found each other because that evening Tee asked Joy out on their first official date.
Since then, Tee and Joy have shared many adventures and always come out stronger on the other side. They survived long distance between Atlanta and New York, and weathered the pandemic in their first apartment together. They traveled near and far. They supported each other in changes in life and work, and put trust in a cross-country move to the West Coast. One day, watching the sun set over Santa Monica Pier on a spontaneous stroll, Tee proposed to Joy. After getting on one knee and popping the question, Tee knew something was not quite right. "Oh my god, I think I just ripped my pants." Joy was already in tears, and now crying from laughter.
