Yes! We came here in 2021 and fell in love with the city. Never once did we feel unsafe! Locals, including the ex-pat Americans who live there permanently, are very friendly and welcoming to tourists. But of course in any situation, we would ask that you use common sense as always when you are traveling, whether in the US or internationally.
To allow all guests the ability to relax and really let loose, we have chosen to make our special weekend adults only. We hope you will understand our decision and take the opportunity to let your hair down, kick up your heels and celebrate in style!
As of today, the US no longer requires a covid test when returning to the states. But with covid rules and regulations changing constantly, we will update this as it gets closer to the date.
We know that time away from home and work is precious so we recommend making the most of your trip and staying as long as you can! We will have formal programming Friday and Saturday, with plans to host an informal event Thursday evening. With that said, we have people who will be staying the whole week to make a vacation out of the trip. If you have any questions reach out!
We do not recommend renting a car. San Miguel is a relatively small, dense town with narrow cobblestone streets. The city is extremely walkable, but please pack comfortable shoes for during the day! Plus, cabs are everywhere and very cheap! If you take a cab while in the city, make sure you use a green or white one (these are official). Also make sure to agree on a rate to your destination before accepting the ride. Don't forget though! You will need to book a car to take you from the airport to San Miguel and back. That's the only important ride to be aware of during your time here.
Yes, we highly recommend! It is an international messaging app (similar to texting). All of the car companies, hotels and airbnbs will use this app to communicate with you about your upcoming stay and travel plans. It's extremely helpful and straightforward to use! Start to familiarize yourself with it now if it's new to you!
Yes! Although some places will take credit cards, we strongly recommend getting pesos prior to arrival as some places are cash only. Most US banks can have pesos ordered for you if given enough time.
