How We Met

Fall 2011

Jordan and Naomi met on the grounds of the University of Virginia during the Fall 2011 semester. While Jordan might not have caught Naomi's attention right away, she sure caught his eye. Not only was her bright smile captivating, but her lively personality brightened up any room. Naomi approached Jordan, mistaking him for his twin brother, and literally the rest was history. The two spent the next year and a half as close friends, getting to know each other personally. Jordan's determination and leadership accompanied with his infectious personality, witty demeanor and mutual companionship made the two a perfect match. Naomi's willingness to help Jordan through classwork and securing internships helped them discover similar ambitions professionally. As their friendship deepened, so did their desire to see if there was something more... Fun fact: Jordan's parents also met at the University of Virginia so looks like we will be sending our kids to Virginia! #Wahoowa

The Journey

June 2013

...Officially, Jordan and Naomi began dating June 3, 2013. They posted a picture together on their Instagram accounts announcing that they were boyfriend and girlfriend, which felt like a big deal at the time. Of course, a lot has happened since then! During their seven years together, they've watched each other grow and mature to the responsible, family-orientated, God fearing, individuals they are today. They've collectively traveled to nine different countries, joined brother and sister fraternity and sorority ('06!/'08!), pursued careers in finance and accounting, switched jobs, healed from two major surgeries, moved in together, gained three godchildren and begun saving for a house. Thank you to all our family and friends for supporting us and investing in us through our journey together. It has truly been a blessing!

The Proposal

March 2019

Anyone who knows Naomi, knows that family is everything to her! For the proposal, she had one request: her family and friends to be there. The day started with a decadent brunch in the upper west side of Manhattan. Following that, unbeknownst to Naomi, an uber brought Jordan and Naomi to the American Airpower Museum in Long Island, NY. There, a "flight lesson" was planned where they took turns learning how to fly a small plane (unfortunately, Naomi was unable to fly due to weather conditions). Instead, Naomi was blindfolded in the pilot seat and the plane was pulled into a nearby aircraft hangar, where over 50 family and friends were eagerly awaiting their arrival. Naomi was escorted out the plane, still blindfolded. 'Real Love' by Eric Benét played in the background while Jordan escorted Naomi around the right wing of the plane. They walked the red carpet to a bottle of champagne and bouquet of roses. Jordan lifted Naomi's blindfold and asked if she would spend the rest of her life with him. Several seconds of tears, smiles, gasps for air and head nods later, a "YES" was uttered and a wave of cheers and hand claps came from family and friends who were standing silently through it all. It was an emotional moment full of surprises. To share this moment with those closest to them, was all they could have wanted. Shortly, after the proposal, everyone headed over to Trello where drinks and hors d'oeuvres were shared to cherish the moment. The night was capped off with a private suite in the Four Seasons Hotel. It was truly a magical day!
