Another example of beautiful Rococo architecture, the Residence was built to look like Versailles. As it is in the city of Gina's paternal grandparents, this has always been a favorite place to visit. Make sure not to miss the extensive outdoor gardens as the flowers are always gorgeous.
Rothenburg is a town that has held onto much of it's medieval history. With destinations like the Medieval Crime Museum (nicknamed the torture museum for it's selection of gruesome artifacts), the town walls you can walk through, and the giant Kathe Wohlfahrt Christmas museum and shop, you can easily spend a day here.
The Königsallee - nicknamed the Kö - is a high end shopping street in the heart of Düsseldorf. In the town of Gina's maternal grandparents, this street is wonderful for window shopping and people watching. There are many tasty treats on the nearby Immermannstraße, which is also called Little Tokyo due to having the third largest Japanese community in Europe!
Munich's Marienplatz is in the heart of the city where the Rathaus-Glockenspiel, a historical town hall bell concert is played. The bell tower has 43 bells that perform different songs with dancing figures every day at 11 am and 12 pm. After enjoying the music, you can get a relaxed taste of Bavarian cuisine (and beer) at the Hofbräuhaus München.
