A Gujarati wedding is a sacred and joyful celebration rooted in centuries-old traditions. Held under a mandap, the ceremony includes vibrant rituals led by a Brahman (priest). It begins with the groom’s lively baraat procession and the kanyadaan, where the bride’s parents lovingly entrust her to the groom in a gesture of blessing. At its heart is the saptapadi, where the couple takes seven steps around a holy fire, making vows of love and partnership. The groom then ties the mangalsutra around the bride’s neck and applies sindoor to her hair, symbolizing their union. Blending music, prayer, and deep emotion, the ceremony unites two families and marks the sacred start of married life. A traditional, vegetarian Indian lunch will be served during the ceremony. Please Note: The ceremony will be taking place outdoors (weather permitting).
