Nope. We’re all set. Don’t need anything. Please don’t bring gifts. We really just hope you’ll come camping with us. Bring food and beer, bring your guitar if you play, just come celebrate with us.
Yes... But, since day use parking is very limited at Pioneer Ford, we encourage everyone to carpool who isn’t camping. For folks that are staying at other campgrounds nearby. We encourage you also to carpool or walk or bike along the beautiful Metolius river. Most of the campgrounds listed are close together.
Bring some if you have room. But firewood is usually available to purchase from the campground host.
There’s a small store at Camp Sherman with a deli, a Mexican restaurant called Hola and a small café near the campground. There’s also lots of restaurants and grocery stores in sisters. Definitely bring a cooler with food and beverages, s’more making things and your coffee for the morning. We will be making pancakes on Sunday morning and having a dinner on Saturday afternoon. There should be plenty of food, but bring something to share if you’d like.
Early June and Central Oregon can be dicey. Bring lots of layers and warm camping equipment just in case. It could be 70s during the day and freezing at night or it could be raining.
No, most of the campgrounds listed in this area do not have cell phone reception. If you drive out towards Highway 20, you can usually get service.
Pioneer Ford and most of the campgrounds nearby have running potable water and pit toilets. To the best of my knowledge there are no showers at any of the campgrounds. Most of the campsites do not have full hook ups. So if you are in an RV, you will won’t be able to dump or hook up to power.
We’re going to do a little worship service on Sunday morning before we pack up. Also, instead of a guest book we’re bringing our bibles for guests to sign. We’re asking everyone to highlight your favorite scripture for either Dan or I, or both of us, leave us a note and sign them if you’d like. God brings us all together and it’ll mean so much to us to have those personal thoughts from you all when we study His Word.
Yes! Bring the kids, bikes, bike helmets, fishing poles, s’more… all the things. There’s a youth angling pond nearby. The river is fly fishing only.
Yes, bring your camping buddy.
Yes. But you gotta have them on a leash or tied and you have to pick up after them.
