River Street has tons of fun restaurants, bars, and shops. You can listen to live music, watch ships pass by, and enjoy breezes along the river with an adult beverage in hand. In Savannah, our to-go cup policy allows it! Our city is one of 7 in the US that allows you to take your drink in a to-go cup, so take advantage of that stack of cups by the door of any downtown bar. Here’s some more information regarding the laws if you’re curious: https://www.savannah.com/to-go-cup-takeaway-savannahs-open-container-policy/
Plant Riverside District offers a hotel, restaurants, and fantastic bars on the west end of River Street. Wanna slide down to some fun lawn games, drink in hand? You can do that here!
Tybee Island is a wonderfully laid-back, relaxing beach community about 20 minutes from downtown Savannah. Though it may be too cold to swim in the Atlantic in November, you can still enjoy a stroll along the beach. We recommend grabbing a slice of pizza at Hucapoo's or some chicken fingers and spuds from Spanky's Beachside after touring the old lighthouse or checking out the various shops on Tybrisa.
Tours are a fun, interesting way to learn about Savannah's rich history. You can ride on a trolley on this one, and actual historical re-enactors will board it and tell you stories!
Savannah is known for ghosts, ghouls, and their many fascinating stories, and this tour in a real converted hearse really delivers!
Leopold's is the best ice cream in Savannah! After grabbing some sweet treats, check out the rest of Broughton Street for great shopping, dining, drinks and more.
Forsyth Park is wonderful for a lovely stroll on a crisp, November day. Enjoy the beautiful fountain with a coffee in hand from Sentient Bean.
One of Jon's favorite places for delicious crème brûlée, Lulu's is the ultimate Savannah destination for luxurious desserts and decadent drinks. Grab yourself a chocolate martini and a slice of cake!
Looking for delicious South African-inspired eats at a fun location? Zunzi's is a fantastic option that's one of our favorites. SHIT YEAH!
Love to sing karaoke? McDonough’s is the place for you! One of Savannah’s best-known bars, this little spot is well-known for fantastic karaoke and enthusiastic crowds.
Wait, you’re recommending a gas station? Well this one is different! Known to Savannah’s partying crowd as a great place for delicious grab-and-go meals, drinks and snacks, this gas and convenience store also has lovely knick-knacks and an impressive wine selection. Locals lovingly refer to it as “fancy Parker’s” for a reason! Walk over here after a fun night of karaoke at McDonough's (they're across the street from one another) for some tasty treats.
We love the delicious burgers at this restaurant! You can choose from different kinds, too (Josie always gets turkey). There are several in Savannah to choose from. The one on Congress Street has a really cool courtyard where you can catch a Georgia game and drink a beer.
We love taking Jon’s two sons here to play video games and pinball and have a drink while doing so. Family-friendly by day, adult-friendly by night.
This is a wonderful place that sells beautiful, local honey of all different flavors. On their first date, Jon brought Josie here to enjoy a mead tasting, which you can do at the bar in the back. Super-fun and dog friendly, too!
City Market is an area of bars, art galleries, restaurants & shops. There’s an excellent pizza place here called Vinnie Van Go-Go’s with huge slices, a really cool pet store called Woof Gang Bakery, and the American Prohibition Museum.
The Starland Yard is a fun food truck park. The trucks change weekly, which is exciting. There is live music and always delicious pizza by Vittoria Pizzeria.
