Josiah & Brittany met the modern way: by swiping right on Upward in April of last year. Their first 'meetup' (as Josiah would say) was super casual—Brittany was coming from a workout & Josiah was headed to one. They lost track of time over deep conversations right from the start - catching each other up on their life stories & experiences along with diving into what they were both looking for in a relationship & marriage over a cup of Dunn Brothers coffee. The official 1st date (according to Josiah) was a thrill of a ride - LITERALLY! They went go-kart racing & then didn't want the night to end so they carried on to Brick & Bourbon for one of their favorite cocktails! The whole evening was such a reflection of their relationship - full of adventure, laughter & falling harder for each other as they continued to learn more about one another. Can't leave out that sparks were flying & the night had to end with a first kiss they'll both remember forever! Shortly after NYE he reached out to Brittany’s besties, Megan & Cassandra to concoct a master plan for the ultimate proposal! At this point, Brittany had started fishing for when it would happen. The inner wedding planner in her reached out to venues ‘just to see what dates were available’. Before they knew it, they had the venue booked & started prepping for the wedding before they were engaged! On February 11, Josiah schemed Brittany into going ice skating at the Maple Grove Amphitheater (there isn't actually skating at the Maple Grove Amphitheater). They walked up to the center entrance to the Amphitheater at sunset & Josiah pointed out all God’s creation around them & how easy it is to overlook how beautiful it is. Then he got down on one knee (in his Nike Monarch 'dad shoes') & told Brittany he wanted to admire her beauty for the rest of his life. He unbuttoned his collar & slyly presented the ring! Hugs and kisses were shared & she of course said YES! He cleverly coordinated with their wedding photographer to capture the special moment too! They soaked in the experience together at dinner, just the two of them. Then in true Josiah fashion, he topped the night off with ANOTHER surprise – telling Brittany to keep her eyes closed as he pulled up to their friend Megan’s house, where so many friends & family were there to celebrate their engagement!
