Bride's Story: The First Date We both decided to go fishing online-we met on a dating app- and had our first date at Dorky's in Tacoma in April 2016. After our date, Josh asked me if I was hungry and I told him no. Josh then said, "Well I'm hungry so I am going to go eat". I felt left out and immediately developed an appetite. I told Josh, "I changed my mind, I will eat dinner with you". We then went to The Matador down the street from Dorky's. There, I learned that Josh likes his steak cooked perfectly. After dinner, Josh offered me a ride but i declined because my car was nearby. He said "okay" and unlocked his car, it started to rain. I quickly told josh "Never mind, I would like a ride". He laughed and we have been together ever since. Groom's Story: The Engagement I was so nervous. All day at work I told the guys that today was the day. I was going to ask Vanessa to marry me. Everyone constantly reassured me that everything was going to be fine. That she would be silly not to say “yes”. We finally made it to the restaurant and ordered appetizers. Vanessa handed me a letter. I asked “what is it?” and she said “just open it”. The letter said she got the job. Her DREAM job. I felt so proud and overwhelmed with love for this girl. We talked a ton throughout dinner and once done, I got nervous again. The moment had arrived. I asked Vanessa if she wanted dessert and she replied “sure”. As we looked through the menu the waiter approached. I looked up and asked if he would be willing to take our picture. The waiter said “yes” – the first yes of the night but hopefully not the only one. As Vanessa stood up smiling towards the camera, I struggled to get down on one knee while opening the ring box. It looks way easier in the movies! My heart was pumping so hard. At that moment Vanessa turned around. I smiled while saying “I love you. Will you Marry me?”. She was so surprised but with the biggest smile, she said “yes”.
