The welcome dinner will be casual and informal. The ceremony itself and the reception will be formal attire; suits (or tuxedos if you would like!) for men, and formal gowns/cocktrail dresses for women.
We recommend bringing both warm- and cool-weather clothing. In summer the islands are sunny and mild. Highs range into the 70s, with nights into the 50s; August is the driest month of the year, so clear skies will be most common. Thus when strolling about the resort or town typical summer shirts and shorts or pants are a good option. However, there s a strong, consistent breeze off the ocean, so when on the water or the coast it can be perceptibly cooler. For these conditions, and at night, long shirtsleeves, pants, and a light coat are advisable.
We are happy to host you and your children at the welcome dinner! The ceremony and reception are adult-only so that everyone has the opportunity to relax and enjoy. For those traveling with kids we request you use a child-sitter during the ceremony and reception: Roche Harbor recommends using https://www.care.com/ (zip code 98250) to arrange for a local sitter.
