Joshua and Stella met in high school at Collegedale Academy. Unknowingly, their love story would be foreshadowed by playing husband and wife in their school play. Before Josh could drive, Stella would frequently give Josh a ride home after hanging out with their group of friends. During these times, a key aspect of trust was developed. They gave each other relationship advice and little did they know, they were helping to mold each other into their future partners. Joshua helped Stella with her math homework, kept chocolate in his locker for her for moments of need, and was a listening ear. The two reunited at CrossWalk Church at Loma Linda when Joshua was in his last year of medical school. Once they reconnected, they quickly realized that it felt like no time had passed since high school. Conversations were still easy. Laughs were still hearty. And it was as easy as ever to confide in one another. Months later, Joshua shared the exciting news of matching into the Emergency Medicine residency program in Austin, TX. Before he moved away from California, Stella requested something she had been wanting to do since high school: record a song together. Looking back on those stolen glances shared and endless giggles during that recording session, there’s no wonder why the two are here today, but they never would have guessed at the time. Fast forward 5 months later, their friendship continued to grow. The once-in-a-while texts turned into daily video chats, visiting each other out of state, and several more music recordings. Two weeks after the two shared their feelings for each other, Stella knew she was looking at the man she was going to marry. Joshua was already talking with his family about Stella and getting their help picking out Stella’s ring. After three long months of dating, the two were engaged to be wed.
