Travel Note

Getting here from out of state

If you're coming from out of state (thank you, we love you!), you have a few options: 1) Fly into Tompkins International (hehe) Airport- there are flights from JFK, Dulles, and a few other places. This is probably the easiest way to get here? But the flights can be pricey. Tiny airport, you can rent a car (I think it's Hertz or Enterprise) and be on your way. Flights in summer are not canceled very often, in winter it's a real gamble. 2) Fly into an NYC airport or Newark. Once you're there, you could rent a car and drive up (around 4.5 hours) OR come into the city, do some NYC time, then take a bus up. We recommend the Cornell bus or Ourbus. Renting a car in Ithaca is usually much less money than in NYC. But if you fly into Newark, you have the option of renting a Touro. 3) Fly into Syracuse. Syracuse Hancock Airport is about an hour outside of Ithaca. There are buses (OurBus has an option) that can take you here, or you can rent a car in Syracuse. You'll probably want a car while you're in town, though if you stay downtown, you can live without one. But it's nice to have wheels for the area's parks and stuff. Our wedding venue is probably best reached by car or Uber/Lyft at night.

While there are many options for places to stay in the area, please note that rooms and Airbnbs are booking quickly due to the holiday weekend (and some prices are unfortunately inflated). The William Henry Miller Inn

She's a grande dame of a B&B, in a walkable downtown location. What's not to love? They haven't raised their prices for the holiday, so this is a very good option.

They don't do room blocks, but this is a lovely midcentury spot a bit away from downtown. You'll need a car, but you'll be close to Treman and some other lovely spots.

Bonvoy members, do your thing! This is a very Marriott-like Marriott right next to the Ithaca Commons with a nice bar downstairs, walking distance to a lot of great food and shopping.

NYC to Ithaca Bus (fancy): Cornell Campus to Campus

The Cornell Campus to Campus will pick you up at the Cornell Club in Manhattan, and drop you off at one of a few Cornell locations here in Ithaca.

OurBus picks up from a few spots in NYC, and will drop you off in downtown Ithaca. Significantly less pricey than Campus to Campus.

This place is away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, but absolutely lovely. They also offer glamping on their property (Firelight Camps), which might be your thing?

If you want to fly direct to Ithaca, flights are available from JFK and Dulles. It's a very cute lil airport, with car rentals available on site.
