See what else is going on during Labor Day Weekend!
Not only is this the location of our wedding celebration, but it's a major must-visit Ithaca attraction! Open Saturdays and Sundays from 10-2, this is my absolute “do not miss this or I will judge you” activity. Artists with locally made handcrafts, fresh flowers, products from local farms, delicious food stands. The market is also covered in case of rain. When you need a break from wandering, you can stop by the shaded picnic tables to enjoy a treat. There’s also a paved trail that can lead you on a nice walk along the inlet. Plus, there's a boat cruise you can hop on at the market, to take a tour of Cayuga Lake! Definitely get out on the lake if you can.
A wonderful small shopping and dining complex created out of shipping containers downtown! Press Coffee is delicious and CDMX Tacos and Mama Said Hand Pies are some of the best eats around. There’s a circus school in case you want to do some tumbling. Also, check out Odyssey Bookstore across the street. So charming.
We freaking love this place. It’s a mixed-use former high school, with apartments on the top, and a great selection of shops and eateries downstairs. There’s the amazing, cooperatively-owned Buffalo Books, a Cayuga Creamery, the famous Moosewood Restaurant, and our favorite: the Cafe Dewitt. We love their brunch.
The very charming main drag downtown. It’s got a lot of nice shops and stuff to check out (be sure to stop by Feel Goods and Oracle Chocolates). If someone asks if you want to see a magic trick, you do not. Definitely check out Handwork, a co-op store owned and run by local artisans. There’s beautiful stuff, and Josh’s mom used to sell her pottery there.
You already know. It’s gorgeous.
Wonderful, vibey, cocktail bars (they have yummy mocktails too), and the Argos does great live jazz on Wednesday nights, which is moved outdoors in the warm months. The Inn and Warehouse are next door to each other, it’s worth checking them both out. We thought about doing welcome drinks here, but parking is kind of a nightmare. Pro tip: After 5pm, try parking down the hill at True Insurance.
This stunning trail is right in town! You can either walk upwards, which means you stop in Collegetown (conveniently near eateries like Collegetown Bagels, and campus). Or you can walk downwards, which lets you out in a cute residential area, within walking distance to food and coffee places.
A gorgeous freaking canyon walk! With waterfalls! The hike takes a little while, but it’s beautiful and very much worth it. You can enter at the top and walk down, or vice versa. There’s a cool natural public swim area, it gets crowded, but it’s worth seeing.
Another gorgeous state park. What the hell, Ithaca? Also great swimming spots here.
A really nice wading spot next to the Botanical Gardens. Lots of families and a nice, chill atmosphere.
