Travel and Lodging

The Wedding Website of Natasha Wetherell and Joshua Arnold
We are so excited to show you the beautiful state of Colorado - a place that we have both fallen in love with over the years. We're thrilled to be lucky enough to celebrate our special day in the heart of Colorado's stunning Estes Park. Nestled in the Rocky Mountains, this charming town offers breathtaking views, fresh mountain air, and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Expect picturesque landscapes, outdoor adventures, and a touch of small town magic as we say 'I do'. We have included information below on our recommendations for travel, lodging, weather and more!

Travel Note

Transportation

Estes Park is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes from Denver International Airport. We recommend renting a car to get from Denver International to Estes Park. There is no Uber or Lyft service available in Estes Park. There is, however, an Estes Park local version of Uber/Lyft called Explore Estes - additional details below. With that said, we do recommend a rental car as the most flexible choice for getting to and around the town, but the immediate town of Estes Park is fairly small and walkable. Please note: There is no rental car provider in Estes Park, so cars will need to be rented at Denver International Airport or in the Denver area. Additional options are outlined below.

Train

Estes Park Airport Shuttle

Scheduled shuttle service from Denver International Airport to your accommodation in Estes Park. Cost is $85 one way or $155 roundtrip per customer. Reservations can be made online or by calling 970-586-5151.

Train

Estes Park Free Shuttle

Estes Park offers free shuttle buses that will take visitors around town and offers stops near many lodging options. They also take visitors into Rocky Mountain National Park. Route information and stops are available on the website.

Train

Explore Estes

Explore Estes is proud to be the only private transportation business that is fully licensed, regulated, and insured in the state of Colorado to provide private Uber-like transportation services within Estes Park and to the Rocky Mountain national Park. They'll pick you up right from your location and drop you off exactly at your destination. Their services book up quickly, so please allow at least an hour notice, if possible. Though helpful, we do not recommend relying solely on this as your means of transportation as their fleet is limited to 3 cars, and it will be busy season in the area. Group Size: 1-6 people

Travel Note

Lodging

Estes Park is a very popular summer travel destination! While there is plenty of lodging available, we strongly recommend booking early if you are able to attend. Josh and I, and close family will be staying on site at the YMCA of The Rockies, and it would be great if you could stay there too!

Hotel

YMCA of the Rockies - Estes Park Family Resort and Cabins

This is where the wedding party will be staying from Friday 21st to Monday 24th August. The cabins do not go on sale until 1st April 2026 (6.00am Mountain Time), and will be booked quickly so please make a note in your diaries if you wish to stay here. The Lodge Rooms are available to book on the website now, and are more like hotel rooms. https://www.ymcarockies.org/our-locations/estes-park-center There are many activities on site, including horseriding, archery, swimming, climbing and you can gain entry into the National Park.

Travel Note

Altitude

CO

Estes Park, Colorado, sits at an altitude of 7,522 feet. Please be aware of the effects of high altitude and start hydrating at least two days before you arrive! Drink more water than you think you'll need, and consider adding electrolytes. Don't overdo it with exercise and note that alcohol tends to have greater effects at elevation. Remember sunblock, chapstick and plenty of moisturizer as your skin dries out quickly here!

Travel Note

Weather

CO

The weather in August in Estes Park is generally sunny and beautiful! You can expect daytime temperatures typically ranging in the mid-60's to low-80's fahrenheit. Evenings can be cooler, often dropping into the 40's. Though the days are usually sunny, there is a chance of an occasional afternoon thunderstorm, so its a good idea to bring layers, a light jacket and rain protection (fingers crossed this stays in your suitcase!).
