How we met!

First date started with a speeding ticket!

Our love story began in March 2022, after I had moved to Boulder to live with a friend during COVID. After seeing Josh (and a picture of his dog, Chase Puppington) on Hinge...I thought, 'ooooh he looks nice!', so I messaged him! After a little back and forth, we decided to meet a couple of days later for our first date, at the Pumphouse in Longmont, halfway between Boulder and Greeley (where Josh was living at the time). I got a taxi to the bar, and ordered myself a margarita to relax. Josh text me to tell me he was going to be a little late, because he'd been held up at work. He finally arrived and we chatted til the bar was getting ready to close, and when we said goodbye I knew I wanted to see him again! It also wasn't til about 2 months into dating that he told me he was late to our first date, not because of work, but because the police pulled him over for speeding!! I hope I was worth that $150 fine! Josh organised our second date at the Denver Aquarium, where we spent 8 hours chatting and laughing and getting to know each other! I think I knew at that point he was a keeper, and I wanted to spend more time with him. That said, I still had my apartment back in New York, and a long distance relationship was never going to work...so I made the big decision to not renew my lease and sell my furniture and put my clothes into storage. Josh came to New York to visit me in the May and we had the best time, showing him all the sights and drinking Picklebacks in Whiskey Tavern. In June, I left New York for good and moved into a furnished apartment in Longmont and we continued our romance, commuting between Greeley and Longmont for 5 months. We knew that we wanted to live together, so on Halloween in 2022, Josh, me, Dillon and Chase moved into our first rental home in Loveland! Seemed a perfect place to be in love! We spent two wonderful years there, all getting to know each other and making some great memories! We bought our first house together in Johnstown, in July 2024, and in March 2025, we went for a snowy hike up to Dream Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park where Josh found the perfect spot to propose!! That place meant alot to me as we'd spent our third date hiking there, with Josh laughing at me because I was hiking the snow in my trainers like a City girl! I knew at that point I'd met my Mountain Man!
