A fantastic hidden gem of a hiking trail features castle ruins steeped in local history. You’ll find several trail options with varying difficulty levels. The Anne Stokes Loop Trail is a 2-mile hike, perfect for those seeking a less intensive experience. For a more challenging hike, consider the Wantastiquet Mountain Trail, a 3-mile trek that Josh and I personally explored and enjoyed. :)
Located on Abenaki lands, the trails are free and open to the public. Access the trail network from five different trailheads to explore the Nature Trail, Ice Pond, Woodlands Interpretive Trail, and Stone Tower. Challenge yourself by climbing the stairs to the top of the Harris Hill Ski Jump, or casually wander through the woods along the winding trails.
If you’re feeling adventurous, take a trip up the road from downtown Brattleboro to visit the Vermont Canoe Touring Center where you can rent canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards to explore the waterways.

You can see it driving by on Route 30. I don't know how cold it will be, but it would be a cool site to see.
Open to the public Wednesday-Sunday from 10-4pm, BMAC is a non-collecting contemporary art museum providing a platform for its region’s many artistic riches. The museum contains six galleries and rotates exhibitions every 3–4 months.
