Flight
Florence airport though closest is a small regional airport with no direct international flights. (Much like Barnstable airport, you'll need to make a connection to get there or else land in Rome or Milan and either rent a car or take a train. Trains are great if you are only visiting cities but if you want to tour countryside, you may want to rent a car.
Rental Car
Cars: They drive on the right side of the road and Google Maps makes it easy to navigate. In the cities can be nerve racking but the highways are modern and easily navigable. Make a reservation in advance and pick up your car at the airport wherever you land including Florence. (Bundling with your flight may be easiest and cheapest).
Train
Trains are inexpensive and reliable in Italy. Use them from city to city. There are regular Trains from Florence, Rome & Milan to Borgo San Lorenzo. Of course you'll need to taxi/Uber from Airport to Train and Train to Hotel; each about $25 per ride.
Travel Note
Driving from your hotel to the venue is not difficult (only a few miles away) but we will be supplying a shuttle to avoid getting lost in the dark countryside on Saturday night. Villa di Striano is the site of both the Wedding and a Sunday Brunch the following day.
Hotel
This is the preferred property based on its proximity to the wedding venue and the fact that the Friday Welcome party will be held here. The majority of guests have already booked here as it will serve as a base of operations for the weekend. There are however several other properties nearby to fit every preference and budget. (As of Dec 22 they are fully booked but you can write to them and try in case anyone has cancelled)
Hotel
Modern hotel in the center of San Lorenzo. Booking have now opened for 2026. This would be the closest to the Train station and in the center of the (town/village). Probably the most modern of all the options.
Hotel
Affordable hotel very near the wedding venue and close to the Welcome party @Monsignor della Casa
House Or Rental
Rustic Inn 13 minutes away from the venue.
