clase de español

2002

Joshua and Cherish met during Spanish 101 at Temple University in Fall 2002. Being two of the older students in class, they ended up sitting next to each other. Joshua would say that Cherish wasn't the most welcoming classmate, but Cherish would respond that she was reserved. That first semester, they talked a lot and spent more and more time together. Over winter break, they decided to get together. And soon plans were made to spend New Year's Eve at the Moffson house in Lansdale. They ended up listening to old Bob Dylan records. Soon, Cherish was a staple at the Moffson house. Joshua and Cherish continued their studies, taking Spanish 102 and Vietnam War class together. After being inseparable for over a year, friendship turned romantic. They moved in together in October 2004, Joshua brought a wonderful addition to the family, his brother's cat, Norman. They added to their family with another kitten, Mason in 2005. Life has been good in Doylestown over these many years! During the pandemic in July 2020, they moved to another place in Doylestown. Since the beginning, they've been inseparable!

Proposal

2021

Well this wasn't the first proposal :) it's actually the third, but it's the one that sticks! On Christmas morning, my dad, Ricky, and cousin Stephanie were spending the holiday with us. I played elf and handed out all the presents. As the time went on, there weren't any presents to me from Joshua. I know he had just started a new job, and his sleeping schedule was messed up and I thought he didn't get me anything. I am surprised that I didn't throw things!! At the end, the only thing left under the tree was a Manila envelope addressed to me. Inside, Joshua had written out a series of letterbox clues for me to find. If you know me, you know letterboxing is my favorite hobby and I love to find hidden things. He had carved rubber stamps and hid 10 boxes all over the apartment. I was floored!! Joshua had been carving rubber stamps every night after work. The boxes were hidden in places I had looked that morning, in the refrigerator, under the sink, in my craft box. Inside each letterbox was the hand carved stamp and a logbook. Joshua had written the the most beautiful sentiments. And by the 9th box I was full on crying!! So far, the stamps spelled out I L O V E S T U - WILL YOU... nothing was registering yet, I was just happy to be finding letterboxes :) When I found the tenth box, there wasn't a stamp. Joshua handed me the stamp, and as I was stamping it into my logbook he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was sobbing and saying, I can't believe it. My cousin then said, well did you say yes? I cried Yes, yes!! It was a perfect proposal! ▪︎▪︎▪︎Cherish What's letterboxing? It's a scavenger hunt, where you find a "Tupperware" container that has a rubber stamp and logbook. You stamp into the box's logbook to record your visit and then stamp your own logbook with the box's stamp. It takes you to interesting locations! For more information : https://www.atlasquest.com/
