How We Met

July 2014

Josh and I met in my hometown in our early 20’s. His father owned a condo beachside and he and his friends would frequently come down for the weekend. One weekend, I spotted him from afar in Downtown Melbourne. He was the most handsome man I had ever seen. I thought staring at him for a prolonged period would let him know I was interested. While this did eventually work, he let me know that he got serial killer vibes initially, haha. We spent that night talking and became fast friends. He was leaving for law school in the fall and I was heading back to UCF to finish up my degree. We would see each other on random weekends and holidays until December. After that, we lost contact for four years. In 2018, by pure coincidence, we found each other via social media. He had accepted a job in my hometown and I was nursing in Bradenton, FL. We spent a year driving across the state to be with the other until he finally asked me to move in. While 2020 had its challenges with a pandemic, I experienced the most magical moment of my life...

The Proposal

10.31.20

For anyone who knows me, Halloween is my favorite day of the year. I love anything spooky! Since Josh knows I dislike audiences or any form of attention, he often joked about proposing to me in a closet with a ring pop. About two weeks before the 31st, he asked if I wanted to spend Halloween weekend at our favorite hotel, the Hard Rock Daytona. I agreed but was disappointed to see that the tickets for their annual Halloween party were sold out. After spending a grueling night working in the ER till 1 am, I came home excited to wake up the next day and head over. When we got to the hotel, Josh said our room would not be ready till 4 and took me to get a drink on the patio. A little later, we went up to our room only for me to find a decked-out haunted house inside and a pumpkin reading "Will You Marry Me." After a beautiful sunset on the beach and dinner, Josh and I spent our night dancing on our balcony that just happened to overlook the sold-out Halloween party.
