Love is Patient

November 5th 2016

Joshua and Stephanie met at a church super bowl party in February 2016. At the time, Stephanie had just received Jesus in her heart and was still in a long-term relationship; and Joshua was not looking for a relationship. But even then God began to orchestrate their relationship. Stephanie left the long-term relationship in April, and the Justinano family graciously opened their home for Stephanie to stay there for a few months. In Stephanie's obedience, God began to heal, restore, and show her who she was in Christ and who He is. Joshua would read bible stories to her that she hadn't heard yet. He was patient with the infinite questions she had, explaining the scriptures to her. His family showed her what it meant to love and forgive, serve others, be gentle and kind. Joshua taught her to receive God's love in ways she never knew how. They grew to become good friends. In a dream Stephanie had one night, she was on a date with Joshua. In the morning, being distressed by this, she prayed for God to show her that her dream was just a distraction. She opened her Bible and the title of the passage stated 'a crown for Joshua.' She closed her Bible in disbelief, because her name in Greek means "crown"!! Despite this, she decided to ignore what God was saying. Then, an opportunity for her to move into another house opened up, and she decided to leave the Justiniano house and also tell Joshua about her dream when she left. Using wisdom, he kindly and gently rejected her pursuit. Thankfully they remained friends without any awkwardness. A few days later, Joshua asked Stephanie if she would consider giving a dating relationship a try. They listened to God's voice and followed His timing deciding to wait until November 2016 to begin dating. "Over the past three years of dating we have grown in faithfulness and patience while waiting upon the Lord's timing and promises." ~Stephanie & Joshua
