Best Man
"You know what always cheers me up? No, what's that? Rolled up aces over kings. Check-raising stupid tourists and taking huge pots off of them. Playing all-night high-limit Hold'em at the Taj, "where the sand turns to gold." Stacks and towers of checks I can't even see over. F*** it, let's go. Don't tease me. Let's play some cards. Yes!" - Rounders
Maid of Honor
Sarah Kwon, my amazing sister-in-law, is married to the best man, Daniel Kim. Our bond grew stronger as we navigated the unique world of understanding the Kim brothers together. As an only child, I never had a sister, but Sarah quickly filled that role with her warmth and adventurous spirit. One unforgettable memory is our daring trip to Colorado. We decided to camp in the great outdoors, boondocking style. In the pitch darkness, we found ourselves on a cliffside we mistook for a national park. Determined, we dug on a steep incline, trying to make the ground flat enough to pitch our tent. Despite the risk of rolling off the mountain at night, we laughed through it all, only to be hilariously reprimanded by locals for camping in a private area. Sarah’s adventurous spirit and our shared experiences have created an unbreakable bond. Here’s to many more escapades and laughter-filled moments as we celebrate this new chapter together!

"What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it." - Billy Madison

Olivia, affectionately known as "Mei Mei," is the younger sister that Zhuoqun never had. They met during Zhuoqun's time at UNT and at Risen Church, quickly forming a strong and lasting bond. One of the memorable beginnings of their friendship was a road trip with Joshua to Galveston, Texas. Despite Joshua's promise of catching crabs, they didn't catch any, but they shared an incredible bonding experience filled with rainy weather, dim sum, country music, and pit stops at A&M, Houston, and Waco. Mei Mei has been there since the beginning of Zhuoqun's and Joshua's relationship, providing unwavering support and companionship. Zhuoqun and Joshua couldn't imagine getting married without her by their side.

Alessa's biggest contribution? She’s the main reason why Joshua and Zhuoqun were able to meet for the first time! Alessa had heard that Joshua's Church was hosting an event for international students. They had fried chicken, and of course, Zhuoqun was interested in attending an event with FREE FOOD! It was because of Alessa asking Zhuoqun if she wanted to go that this would set the stage for the greatest love story the WORLD HAS EVER KNOWN! Zhuoqun first met Alessa Zhang when they were roommates during their time at UNT. Hearing about a new roommate, Zhuoqun wanted to be friendly, and to her delight, discovered they were both from the same hometown in Yantai. This serendipitous connection was just the beginning of their amazing friendship. They took a math class together, and Zhuoqun credits Alessa as the only reason she passed—Alessa’s math skills were a lifesaver! Their bond grew even stronger on an epic road trip, traveling through Utah, California, Yellowstone, and down the legendary Route 66. The adventures they shared on that massive road trip are some of Zhuoqun’s most cherished memories. From solving math problems to matchmaking and exploring the wonders of America, Alessa has been an incredible friend and partner in crime. Here’s to celebrating this special day with the friend who’s been there through every adventure and challenge!

Wenting Luo and Zhuoqun's story began during their intern days at Uber in China, where a shared love for adventure brought them together. From hiking trails to exploring Yanji, their bond was forged in the great outdoors. Beijing’s outdoor clubs became their playground, filled with thrilling escapades and unforgettable memories. One of the most memorable (and slightly hilarious) moments was a meticulously planned mountain climbing trip with a tour group. Everything was set, but in a twist of fate, Zhuoqun missed the train! While Wenting bravely took on the mountain solo, Zhuoqun found herself on an impromptu adventure to the desert. Their shared spirit of adventure and resilience is a testament to their wonderful journey together. Here’s to many more adventures and spontaneous trips as they embark on this new chapter!

When Zhuoqun first came to America to study at the University of North Texas, she met Yaresi Guerrero, her language partner in the IELI program. What started as a partnership quickly blossomed into a beautiful friendship. They spent countless hours hanging out, and Zhuoqun was welcomed into Yaresi's family, celebrating Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and ringing in the New Year together in Weslaco, deep in the heart of Texas. One memorable (and slightly nerve-wracking) adventure was when Zhuoqun embarked on an 8+ hour drive to the southern border ONE WAY [16+ TOTAL HOURS, keep this in mind for the next part]. Despite Joshua's major blunder of not checking up on her well-being during the long journey, Yaresi came to the rescue. She comforted Zhuoqun and helped her escape from the sketchiest Airbnb rental ever. Yaresi’s unwavering support and friendship have been a rock for Zhuoqun throughout her journey. Here’s to celebrating this special day with the friend who has been there through thick and thin!

"Gentlemen, we do not stop 'til nightfall. What about breakfast? You've already had it. We've had one, yes. What about second breakfast? [Aragorn turns and walks away] I don't think he knows about second breakfast, Pip. What about elevenses? Luncheon? Afternoon tea? Dinner? Supper? He knows about them, doesn't he? I wouldn't count on it. - Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

Jane and Zhuoqun were both students at the University of North Texas (UNT) in the Merchandising and Hospitality department. They first met while working for the same professor, which marked the beginning of their strong friendship. Known for her kind heart and sense of humor, Jane was a great friend to Zhuoqun during her time in America. As a bridesmaid, Jane brings not only her impeccable style but also her incredible ability to keep everyone calm and collected. Zhuoqun is incredibly grateful to have Jane by her side on this special day and knows that her wedding wouldn't be complete without her dear friend's love and support.
