Josh was still in school and Andrea was a new graduate. Josh was working as a Physical Therapy Technician doing an internship at a local Chiropractor. Andrea had recently started going to that same Chiropractor and the Chiropractor suggested she work with one of his PT Tech's to strengthen her neck. And over the next several weeks, Josh and Andrea got to know one another...
So the first unofficial date involved a 3 mile run...Andrea had been looking for someone to run with her. (For most of you that don't know Lubbock, all of the nice parks are on the VERY bad side of town) So the first unofficial date included Josh being very unprepared to run that far, followed by a 3 hour chat in the parking lot. The first official date happened shortly after, where we went to the drive in and watched Hercules and Ninja Turtles (Josh' favorite)! Needless to say, Andrea wasn't as interested as she fell asleep part of the way through the first movie!
On a casual Friday night, we had made plans to go see a movie with Megan and Aaron (two of our best friends!). We met at Megan's parent's house so that we could drop their kids off and then ride together to Alamo Drafthouse. We get to the theatre to see Deadpool 2 and roughly 5 minutes before the movie starts Megan's mom calls and little Will is so not having it. So Megan and Aaron head back to their parent's house. Throughout the movie I keep suggesting to Josh to have Aaron drop our car off at the movies so he doesn't have to come back later and pick us up. (Needless to say that wasn't going to be a good idea, but I didn't know that!). After the movie, Aaron ends up picking us up and we go back to Megan's Parent's house to get our car and chat for a bit. We were standing in their backyard and Josh grabs my hand and says I need to show you something. We walk to the gazebo in their backyard where Josh has my entire Christmas Village setup (for those of you who don't know, my Christmas Village is one of my absolute favorite things I own. Josh buys me a new village...or three...each year). He tells me to find something new. I walk around the table a couple of times and still can't find it. Sooo Josh ends up moving it from the dead center of the table (how I missed it, I really don't know...) to the front and I finally see it! (He had found an engagement Christmas Village scene. It was a pine tree with snow that says "Will you marry me?" on it and there is a couple and the guy is covering the eyes of the girl. (check out the pictures tab, to see a picture of it) I then turn around and he is on one knee and proposes! He could not have planned a more perfect and personalized proposal. I was honestly more excited about my new Christmas Village piece than the ring itself!
