Flight
ALB in Albany, NY is the closest and best option when flying into the area of the venue. The drive from Albany to Hunter is roughly 1.5 hours. There are plenty of car rental options at ALB: https://www.albanyairport.com/parking-and-transport/ground-transportation/car-rentals There are also public transit / cab options available —see the Amtrak section below.
Flight
The NYC metro area has tons of airports, each with their own advantages. Laguardia (LGA) Easiest for domestic flights and proximity to NYC. Its rental car offices are located off-site, but nearby. For in-city connections, an Uber or Lyft is recommended over public transit, as there are no subways near. LGA -> Public transit: https://new.mta.info/guides/airports/laguardia John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) JFK is a solid alternative to LGA, with arguably the easiest access to public transit via its AirTrain system. For car rentals, take the AirTrain to Federal Circle where the rental cars are located JFK -> public transit: https://new.mta.info/guides/airports/jfk/jfk-airport-to-nyc Newark (EWR) EWR often has great deals due to its distance from the city. Train
You may opt to ride Amtrak train to nearby Hudson, NY. - There are 10 trains from Moynihan @ Penn station (NYP) to HUD daily, starting at 7:15A ET, with an ETA of 2 hours. - There are 11 trains from Albany-Rensselaer, NY station (ALY) to HUD daily, starting at 5:55A ET, with an ETA of 20 minutes. - There is one train from Albany Intl. (ALB) to HUD daily, starting at 12:20, with an ETA of *4.5 hours*. We do not recommend this option due to its excessive transit time relative to the venue's proximity. It's best to book as early as possible to get the best Amtrak deals. Travel Note
There are a few bus lines that run from NYC to Hunter, NY. These typically leave from Port Authority station on the east side of Manhattan. Unfortunately, none of them seem to run on Thursdays.
