Josh and Veronica love going to the mountains and Buena Vista is a perfect town to experience a true Colorado summer. The collegiate peaks, Arkansas river and quaint little mountain town is the perfect spot to get married.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will take place outdoors at the Surf Hotel, location TBD, and the reception will take place inside, in the Ivy Ballroom.

What will the weather be like in Buena Vista?

Answer

Expect low to mid 80s during the day, and low to mid 50's at night. The sun can be very strong at this altitude, 80 in the sun here is warmer than it sounds. Sunscreen and sun hats are encouraged! August is considered to be within Colorado's rainy season, but not to worry, rain showers usually come in the afternoon and pass quickly.

Unfortunately, with the venue's capacity we are only able to invite children of immediate family and relatives. We hope you understand! If anyone needs help making arrangements for childcare, please let us know and we will do our best to assist.

Sunhat, sunscreen, reusable water bottle. Pack lots of light layers and water shoes, if you'd like to have a river dip or raft.

Are there restaurants nearby to The Surf Hotel?

Answer

There are a few shops and restaurants a stones throw away from the hotel, but most of the dining options (especially that are open for early breakfast) are downtown Buena Vista on Main Street. The downtown strip is about a 15 minute walk, or a 5 minute drive away. The Surf Hotel Rooms provide coffee in the rooms and a few take away items available for purchase, otherwise the only option for early morning coffee + pastries with a few minute walk is The Midland Stop, and hours are not necessarily ALWAYS reliable. There is Wesley & Rose located within The Surf hotel, but is only open at 4PM for dinner, except on Sunday's they are open from 9AM. Another option within a 2 minute walk of the hotel is Eddyline Brewery on South Main and opens at 11:30AM.
