Wedding Party

Meet the cast of characters who will be joining us on our wedding day!

Rachana

Maid of Honor

Rachana and I met while working at DC Prep, and we started and ended our time there almost in the same month. We’d see each other and say hi during the first year; then, after I snuck out her laptop early, we did happy hour at La Tasca in Chinatown and a friendship was born. Rachana invited me to dinners at Lavagna, and somehow or another, we became friendship soulmates. We can do everything from Home Depot runs to pickleball to “video voicemails” to just sitting on a couch, and nothing feels mundane. She was my daily phone call to cheer up during quarantine, and I’m so happy she’s in my life, and my maid of honor. - Hez

Beth

Bridesmaid

Beth and I also met at DC Prep. While I don’t fully remember this story, apparently I saved her in the middle of a mid-morning tech breakdown during our first run of NWEA MAP testing. During AO Kickoff one year, I was feeling pretty low, saw Beth, and she had saved a seat for me, which, in that moment, meant the absolute world. Beth, Rachana, and I had monthly dinners at Lavagna for years (occasionally mixing it up), annual wine weekends, and Beth and I are known to be errand buddies, concert goers, and willing Nats game attendees with her husband, Kartik. Beth is the sweetest, most giving person, and my favorite NASA princess.

Dara

Bridesmaid

Dara and I met through Josh's best man, one Jason Porter. Our first outing was a $6 movie and endless amounts of pie at Bob and Edith's with our group. After Dara and Jason got married, we didn't get to see each other for a long time (life and COVID), but we reconnected in the summer of 2021, and our "chosen family" has grown. Dara and I roll our eyes together at the boys, find ridiculous board games and TV shows to watch, and are always ready with a joke, or to potentially find something fun that someone has discarded in NOVA. Our second home is with Dara, Jason, and Lucas, and we're so grateful.

Lucas

Ring Bearer

Lucas is the best boy! This car-obsessed kiddo hit it off with Josh immediately and Heather not long after, and has been there for our best photos together (seriously, look at Heather's phone), our engagement, and so many fun outings. We're excited he's part of the wedding, and promise to give him dessert as soon as it's over. Also, ask him how to spell our names.

Jason

Best Man

Jason and I have known each other since probably 2003. We met in Atlanta through our mutual appreciation of cars, and in this case Subaru's. We have helped each other through the ups and downs of life, and come out the other side.

Ian

Groomsman

Ian and I met in the early days of our sophomore year of high school. We had many shall we call them adventures throughout high school and college. I had the privilege of being a groomsman at Ian's wedding, and I am thrilled that he will be a groomsman at my wedding.
