Let the adventure begin!

She was finishing her senior year at CSU, he was interning with Cru on the campus. They were both over at a friend's house for a game night. During Cards Against Humanity, Josh kept making jokes about Caitlin's choice of cards. She didn't know if she liked his sense of humor - little did she know he was trying to flirt with her. Later that summer at a friend's wedding they connected again, then another friend's wedding, and again at another. After they'd both moved - Caitlin to Arizona, then California, Josh to Boulder, then Slovakia (casual) - they stayed in touch for a couple years and decided to try the long distance thing in December 2018. They both ended up back in Colorado the summer of 2019, very happy to be in the same place (country) again!

We had a long weekend trip planned to Ouray to see friends. Those friends texted us the week before saying we couldn't stay with them anymore, but they got us an AirBnB in town. He told me he had a surprise dinner planned since restaurants were closed during our anniversary. Smooth. We drove an hour to get to Telluride, where he acted lost trying to get to our reservation since he had to stall. He then "figured out" that we had to get onto the gondola to get to the restaurant. The gondola we got in was decorated with flowers and lights but I still didn't ask any questions (I'm definitely the most oblivious person I've ever met). On that gondola was where he got down on one knee and popped the question! At the top was my best friend and maid of honor who flew in from Raleigh to help with everything. We had an amazing dinner at the top of the gondola, then came back to our AirBnB decorated with candles, flowers, photos - the works. It was such an amazing weekend and they pulled off an incredible surprise!
