A Tender Tinder Tale

He had me at "Prairie Fire."

"Sorry, but this event is running late," she texted. No surprise. She was Always. Running. Late. And given that this particular date was not even slated to begin until 9 on a school night, many would have balked at her audacity. But not Smooth Silky Silcox (aka "Silkworm"). Silkworm casually responded that he would be drinking at the bar. Tinderbella liked this easy-going response, and thought that perhaps this fella was not as uptight as he looked in his Tinder profile (where he donned a never-ending array of gingham shirts and posed in a hardhat at a construction site...questionable). "This date with the Silkworm might not be so bad after all... and in any event, it was just one drink, " Tinderbella thought. When Tinderbella arrived, she was impressed. Not only was Silkworm more handsome than expected, but he had taken the liberty of ordering both a salad (in case she was healthy) and a burger/fries (in case she was not). Nice... a man who was able to roll with the punches, take charge, and expect the unexpected. Meanwhile, Silkworm was intrigued, amused, and perhaps slightly intimidated by Tinderbella, who thought nothing of trotting into a smokey basement bar in a tailored work dress and heels. But Tinderbella, looking radiant, seemed at ease throwing down a bevy and fries... From there, one thing led to another. There was talk of their small town backgrounds, love of travel, Silkworm's finesse as a skier and on the guitar, and before they knew what was happening, a couple of prairie shots later, the Silkworm was spinning guitar magic for Tinderbella on Greenwood Ave. As it turned out, the Silkworm turned out to be full of contradictions and surprises, kind of like the perpetually late Tinderbella. Although neither was necessarily looking to settle down, they soon realized that this romance might just get interesting. Which leads us here, to the end of this 2000-word-limit-Tinder-Tale, but for Elizabeth and Josh, this is just the beginning!
