How blessed Josey is to have a built-in best friend for life. Josey's greatest memories involve Kasey. Growing up they had some fights like any sisters do but it faded out over time. Kasey still loves to accuse Josey of shoving her off a moving treadmill (Josey maintains her innocence) and Josey loves to tell the story of when Kasey threw a whole bag of opened shredded cheese at her across the kitchen. You can catch Josey and Kasey at any time quoting lines to "She's the Man" or "A Cinderella Story" and connecting them into any casual situation (Malik reallllly loves it).

While Malik doesn’t have a literal brother, it’s hard to argue that Greg is anything but. Attached at the hip since diapers, “Kiki and Googie” have been inseparable from the start. From chasing each other around as kids to becoming college roommates and travel partners, Greg and Malik have always had each other’s backs. Known for his quirky humor and unforgettable characters (Skylar, Batman, or Lil’ Wayne, to name a few), Greg is full of surprises. Malik is honored to have the best man he knows as his Best Man!

Malik loves to say "Josey and Allie make each other very dumb". Josey knew Allie was going to be a friend for life after she called Allie on a Saturday morning begging her to come help "compete" at a Beer Olympics. Since then, she has become Josey's beer olympic co-host, Catan enemy, Aunt to Dobby, Irish carb bomb hater, pickleball partner, and fellow Gator sport enthusiast. #BAAA
Dijon Green

Malik, Greg, and Dijon first bonded as freshmen after sitting next to each other in class, and the rest was history. Years of competitive NBA 2K battles, pickup games, and (mostly failed) attempts to get Malik back in the gym turned into a decade-long friendship. Dijon’s competitiveness is legendary, especially in Monopoly, which they no longer play for everyone’s sake. Dijon keeps it real, laid-back, and full of sarcasm.

Lauren and Josey met playing club softball at UF. Josey dragged Lauren to her birthday celebration to go line dancing one year and the rest is history. Lauren is one of the few that has been to a Mayer Family vacation. Josey's dad, Greg, taught them some ole' card games that eventually got included in the rotation of games in college. Although they both hate the 2-hour time difference, no amount of miles between them could ever break their friendship!

Malik and Marcy became fast friends during their Gainesville party days, and the fun hasn’t stopped since. Known for his mix of luck and skill — doubling his money on red in Vegas and keeping patients alive in the OR — Marcy is equal parts wild card and rock-solid professional. He’s also the group’s unofficial historian, able to pull up seven-year-old throwbacks and embarrassing Snapchat Memories in seconds. He brings energy, laughter, and a guaranteed good time wherever he goes; he’s a real one through and through.

Despite the fact that Sammie was one of Malik's best friends for years before he and Josey started dating, Josey quickly stole Sammie for herself! It wasn't uncommon for most of their first dates to be an outing with Sam. On Thursday's Josey and Sammie would go line dancing at a local bar and when they were ready to go home, they would call Malik to pick them up as their own personal Uber - it was the greatest hack!

A self-proclaimed “anti-social introvert,” Cory is the guy everyone notices when he walks in and somehow, he’s gone before you realize he’s left. After crossing paths at intramural games and Hangar Parties at UF, Cory and Malik became fast friends and could often be found grabbing Blaze Pizza, hitting Fats, or pregaming at Cory’s place behind Midtown. Even though they now live on opposite coasts, they can go months without talking and pick right back up like no time has passed.

Stephanie and Josey grew up as wee ten year olds spending nearly every weekend together traveling for softball. One of Josey's best childhood memories is when they practiced their softball slides on the flooded golf course...but dressed in trash bags to get some extra slick distance. As high school started their friendship only grew. Freshman year they got initiated into the varsity softball team by performing a duet to "Party in the USA". Years later they were partners-in-crime during "Senior Prank Night" highlighted by TP-ing their teachers houses.

After meeting at the bus stop in high school, Gabe and Malik quickly realized they were kindred spirits who’ve since shared countless adventures together. From annual Gainesville visits to discovering house music in Chicago and going a little AWOL in the Dominican Republic, these two can always find a good time (and usually a story or two to tell after). Gabe’s the kind of guy who can turn any setting into a party and make friends with a total stranger before the night’s over. No matter where they are, Malik and Gabe are guaranteed to be laughing, exploring, and living it up.

Jon and Malik met back in elementary school and have been close friends ever since. From DJ-ing house parties in 2013 to all-night Call of Duty Zombies sessions and one truly bizarre Halloween on campus, they’ve built a lifetime of inside jokes and memories. These days, they trade wild nights for trying new food spots and hours of board games. Jon’s humor and loyalty make him one of Malik’s longest-running and most cherished friends.

Trevor has been like an older brother to Malik since he married into the family a decade ago; he even got Malik drunk for the first time! Outside of the hours they've spent downing whiskeys and playing video games over the holidays, Trevor has been a great sounding board and role model for Malik through every stage of life. Josey and Malik are truly honored to have him officiate their special day.
